Lots of detailed insight into the Wiz series as well as revisiting Ainge sitting still at the trade deadline.

Lowe's articles are great for showing the nuances most of us miss in the live game. He had a really nice piece on how we were keeping IT out of Jimmy Butler pick+roll plays last series too.

Great stuff, thanks !

I hadn't realized while watching the game how bad the Wizards' effort was (Wall standing in the corner with his hands on his hips is crazy).

Like Lowe points out, if we get outrebounded but don't turn the ball over too much we can win tonight. I just hope AB and Crowder keep making their open shots, that remains our best chance.

AB just needs to keep being agressive in offense. He's our best shooter beside IT. If  he's on fire again, WSH has very small chances of bringing the series back to Boston.

He's such a great writer. He does come off sounding uppity though, saying Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. like:

"It was a little funny to see isolated corners of the hoops media go bananas over Thomas screening for Horford in an inverted pick-and-roll on three straight possessions -- yielding three ho-hum outcomes: one Horford turnaround over Beal on a switch; one Horford off-the-dribble long 2; and a shaky non-shooting foul on Beal.

It's a cool wrinkle. It produced points, if not amazing looks. It was not some revolutionary invention worthy of breathless postgame accounting"

His rattish writing is a nice "wrinkle" itself, I guess, in the backslappy NBA nerd scene. Just that it's funny for someone who can't go more than 4 shows without having King-of-Cliche Jeff Van Gundy on his show; and turning his inner sycophant up to 11.

A minor gripe though. My Brad-Coloured-Glasses are pretty dark right now..

I'm on vacation in Gibralter for the next week or so. I was wondering how the whole timezone difference worked out. 2 AM is too early for me with a wedding tomorrow. Hopefully, the C's can pull it off and I can wake up to some good news.
My biases, in order of fervor:
Pro:
Smart, Brown, Hayward, Tatum, Kemba, Grant Williams, Sleepy Williams, Edwards!

Anti:
Kanter, Semi, Theis, Poierier

Not sure if it's cause or effect, but Avery and Crowder playing well on offense seems to be the best bellweather for how the team is going to do.

When AB and Crowder are playing like above average starting wings on offense, it becomes very difficult to stop the Celts with Isaiah and Horford also on the floor.

On the other hand, if AB and Crowder can't get their jumpers to fall, the other team has a very easy time defending the IT / Horford P&R because there really isn't anybody on the floor other than Isaiah who can get to the rim and create shots in tight spaces.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.
