Part of the Celtic reunion on area 21, if you go to the 17:20 mark on this video, KG asks Perkins to pick his "All Perk Team" which is a team with Perk starting at center and 4 players from a list of his best teammates.

https://youtu.be/OOvqb2BN2DI?t=17m20s

The list: Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Lebron James, Kevin Love, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, Rajon Rondo, James Harden, Ray Allen, Kyrie Irving, Russel Westbrook.

So who's your all Perk team?

Mine: Perk, Garnett, Durant, Pierce, James. Not quite positionally correct but I think they could work together and they'd be huge, which I think would make up for any speed deficiencies on the wing.

I would go:
Perk/KG/Pierce/James/Playoff Rondo

Rondo is so smart and can orchestrate a team like no one else when he is motivated...look what he did with the Bulls game 1 and 2. Plus he is a great defender. He is not a shooter but can get in the lane and set guys up easily thus he is not a liability with a super team in my opinion. He is a bit of a head case(all the smart ones are) but KG can obviously harness and control Rondo.

SO basically 2008 Celtics with LeBron instead of Ray......such a good team we had at the time

Perk
KG
Pierce
Durant
James

Put Lebron at point, I don't care.  That team would be fun as heck to watch.

Perk
KG
Pierce
Ray
Rondo

That's still my team. Durant and Lebron can pound salt.

Perk is like the Kevin Bacon of NBA superstars.

Westbrook/Ray/Durant/Ticket/Perk

is the correct answer to this.

Paul Pierce team looks like this:

Chris Paul/Ray/Paul/Ticket/DeAndre Jordan
"Gimme the ball, gimme the ball". Freddy Quimby, 1994.

So true. The envy of this generation of star players to strive and become. I'm still convinced that team wins three in a row if KG never gets injured in Utah.

In kind of a reverse scenario, could you imagine that Celtics team with Horford instead of Perkins. Horford is the type of player that you have to watch to appreciate, and simply can't rely on numbers to tell a story of how effective he is.

If I take my green glasses off, the answer is Westbrook, Allen, James, Garnett, Perkins. BTW, one reason why I chose Allen over Harden is because Allen was such a clutch player and always seemed under control no matter the situation. Harden, on the other hand, may be the worst end of game player that I have ever seen.

Interesting to look at.  Can we cut Perk, on the all Perk team  :D

I wonder who would have the greatest team of this sort.  I was thinking Rodman, but you should probably only look at guys who never made an All-Star game or something.  Did Horry ever make an All-Star game?

Discussion for another thread...
Yup

Not to derail the thread, but I can't resist.

Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant, Robert Horry, Time Duncan, Shaquille O'Neal. Extremely close, and depending on the day, Jason Kidd and Hakeem Olajuwon.

Isiah Thomas, Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, David Robinson. He also played with Shaq, but I thought Robinson was a better fit for this team.

I don't want Westbrook and James on the same team. James should lead the offense and then what is Westbrook going to do? Stand in the corner?

I love this idea. Start with any player who's never made an all star team and build the best possible team around that player using only past teammates. If you don't start that thread, I will.

I see James and Westbrook as the ultimate fast break, unlike anything the NBA has ever seen. Besides, I tried putting a team together based on players natural positions (PG, SG, SF, PF, C). I like the team you chose, but it seems more like an all-star fan balloting team of just picking the best players regardless of position.

The problem I ran into was that the PG's (Rondo, Irving, Westbrook) are all ball dominant, score first guards. Lebron is the best player on the list so I want him on the team but I want my offense running through him because that's when he's at his best. In that way, I think my team would work better. I think the roles in the half court would be clearer.
