Yeah hes worth more than that and hell get more than that.

That's the exact same contract Evan Turner got from Portland. A contender or a team flush with cash and young core could easily spend a lot more on him just to beat out Boston's offer. Someone will gamble with his injury history if it gets them over a certain hump.

Unless AB is so in love with Boston he will take that other offer just because of how underpaid he is the last 1-2 years and next year. I honestly feel bad for him because this has to be a motivation going forward. This is why the cap shouldn't rise so dramatically. It also creates the possibility of super teams while someone like Curry earns peanuts so they can max out Durant.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

Sadly, I think AB is gone.  Either via trade or letting him walk.

You can't pay everyone.  And one way to get to purgatory fast is to overpay multiple rotation guys/role players.

This should become especially apparent if they do land Fultz.  You'll have a glut at the guard position with multiple guys facing uncertain contract situations in the near future.  Also, you're looking at the emergence of Rozier as a serviceable rotation guy who is under friendly team terms for the forseeable future.

4/70? If that's your expectation, then I expect there to be a ton of overpaid threads once Bradley actually signs.

I expect Bradley to be closer to $100 MM than $70 over 4 years.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I don't think it's a guarantee he's gone, at least immediately.  I do think he's the one moved to make room for Hayward if that happens.  But if it doesn't, it's not impossible that there's enough cap room to renegotiate and extend both him and IT for amounts that give them larger cap hits next year (since what else are we doing with the money), and smaller cap hits in subsequent years.  This would make future teams still affordable.  Maybe ultimately Bradley would be traded if Fultz (or any other young guard) plays himself into the starting lineup, but it would be a reaction to that, and not something done in advance.  If we strike out in free agency, I expect Ainge to lock up as much of the team as he can for long-term deals that can be used in trades if it makes sense, as opposed to just letting everyone hit free agency in 2018.

Blows my mind how knee jerk people are after one good game.

I love Avery but if we want to win a championship the best move will most likely  be to trade him or let him walk.

Avery's gonna get paid by somebody.  As good as he was last night (and numerous other times during his time with the Celts), I'm not sure it makes sense to pay him.

Especially if the team has Jackson/Fultz/Ball/Tatum plus Brown, Smart, and Rozier on the roster already.

Off of one great game? Hold your horses. The problem with AB is next game or two he may score in single digits.
His injury history has me worried too.

4/70M with Bird Rights? SIGN ME UP.  ;D

Idk it's hard to choose which guard to let go if we draft Fultz.

Rozier and Smart look so good tonight as well.

What a great problem to have, Huh!!!

My thoughts as well. 4 for 70 is a great deal for Bradley, even if he's at best a 15 ppg 37% from 3 defensive stopper. Won't happen. And if we keep him next season and he continues to mature well and becomes a more consistent scorer, you're talking crazy money at that point.

No, of course not.  Last night has no bearing whatsoever on this discussion other than to stimulate it.

Single digits after good games?  Show me.

Bradley scored in double digits in more than 50 games during the season (regular + playoffs).

He didn't manage to 3 times in 12 games so far in the playoffs.
2 times out of 5 in May
1/13 in April
1/1 in March (when hurt)
1/3 in Februay (when hurt)
0/16 in January
0/15 in December
0/3 in November

It mostly a safe to bet Avery will score double digits for most of the games to come if he doesn't get hurt.

Last night also showed us how valuable it is to have a 2nd scoring option that can light it up. Imagine if Durant would have signed with us or if we do somehow land Hayward to combine with what we have. Oh, we might get someone "good" at the top of the draft this year and perhaps in 2018 as well.

Avery was a beast last night. I love how he has grown as a player and when he is healthy could really help us put a scare into some teams.

He's our best two-way player, even when not healthy.

Really depends.   I think one of Smart and AB will be kept as part of the G rotation.   I think it depends on the draft pick.   If the pick has the PG skills, AB's outside shooting would be more valuable then Smart.   If the pick doesn't have PG skills, Smart's ability becomes more important.

This brings up something I have been wondering about.  Do some people here value Smart somehow more than Bradley?  I don't, but it seems that some here do. I guess resigning smart eventually will be less than Bradley because of not being the scoring threat that AB is.
