If MJ did it then he may have started it because of the serious abuse he was taking on the court, especially from the Pistons. He was always a freak of an athlete but that would make him stronger and possibly able to absorb more punishment (it is a long season and he was always deep in the playoffs). I know when I played I was relatively skinny and people would try that Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. with me. But I was a bit of a dirty player myself so that could've played a part. I did start to lift weights around 27 to get stronger and took some weight gain and amino acids during my workouts. Put on about 10/15-lbs. Don't think it made me a better  ball player but certainly made me stronger on the court.

No.

I just think its deflection from the Lebron apologists away from the argument that Lebron has been using.  You know, point the finger at someone else.  Jordan is the most natural competition for Lebron historically at this point.

(I'm not sold LBJ has done anything either.  Just one of those "freak of nature things.)

If the argument is that Jordan likely used, I agree it's unfair.

If the point was "you can do the same sort of speculating regarding Jordan that critics do with Lebron" to point out the unreliability of PEDs speculation, I'm more sympathetic.

Frankly, I think that steroids for healing purposes should be legal in professional sports. The seasons are so grueling that I'm not going to vilify these guys. I've definitely evolved on this issue, but ultimately I wonder what the real harm is.

Isn't that how steroids are used?  To heal your muscles better pre/post/during workout?
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Almost certainly, but I'm sure he wasn't the only one doing them.
