8-0 run, ok.
12-0 run, c'mon now.
16-0 run, "Hey Brad, call a T.O!".
20-0 run, "Is Brad watching the game?".
24-0 run, "Ok Laranaga, you call a timeout"

Seriously, at that point the game is over!

I'm under the impression he likes to save those timeouts for end of game attempts to score. He tries to gamble by not using them during those sprees

I was hoping Frank the Tank would streak across the court.

I'm probably wrong but, it seems that every game the Wiz have gone on these streaks, Brad was waiting for them to stop it.

Why save timeouts for the end of the game when you're getting blown out. You can't let teams in the NBA go on these long runs.
16-0
22-0
26-0

Seriously, that needs to be fixed and these games are close. Once more thing...stop trying to dribble so much and move the ball. This team is too big and our turnovers are killing us.

Game 1: 16-0 run (1st quarter)
Game 2: 14-0 run (3rd quarter)
Game 3: 22-0 run (1st quarter)
Game 4: 26-0 run (3rd quarter)

It's remarkable.

Have people not noticed this ever since he's came into the league?

Along with weird rotation decisions at times, that's one of his flaws that has been present ever since he's come into the league.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Because he has his players so well prepared in terms of rotations and plays, I think he assumes the team will figure it out.

He is such an even keeled person that I don't think he quite buys into the concept of momentum and the role it can play in a game. He would rather save those time outs.

Well he better start buying into it. Whilst his team may know what to do and what plays to run, the other teams momentum (aka energy) is a real thing which needs to be controlled by time outs.

Game 3: 22-0 run (1st quarter)
Game 4: 26-0 run (3rd quarter)

It's remarkable.

It says two very bad things about him.

1. He has no desire to call timeout and have to chew out his players. That means he is timid and probably still afraid of the NBA player. He may be on his way back to college if that does not change.

2. He has no go to play to stem a tide. Most coaches/teams have a play that will either get you a basket or a foul.

There are many ways to stop a run. Truth is when teams go on a run the NBA refs get caught up , swallow their whistles, and allow that team to get away with fouls on both offense and defense. If a coach does not want to call a timeout he can draw a T to get his players some time to get a breather, and break the momentum of the opponent. Skills that our young coach still has to learn.

I think this is an overreaction.

I think it is a function of Brad still learning. In the regular season I think it is good to let your guys figure it out. Brad does need to learn that playoffs are about results, and he cant afford to let his guys play through stuff like this.

You say this is an overreaction then go on to pretty much agree with parts of my post?
