I don't see how any of them can legitimately make their roster a title contender before their core pieces are past their prime.
So with that being said,Danny could take advantage of some talent on those teams, and improve some weaknesses.
Paul George
Valanciunas
Howard
Derozen?
Then of course Millsapp is a FA, we could steal him too.
PG13 would obviously be my first choice. If you can sign Millsap and then trade Crowder,Smart and brk 17 for George, we are contenders
IT. Rozier
AB vet min
George. Jaylen
Millsap. Yabu
Horford zicic
Paul George has a PO after next season...exactly the same time we would need to sign IT and AB. He will probably leave for LA....so giving up the BKN pick for a season of his services is similar in result but worse than the Joe Johnson trade
Also ATL hjas said Howard can be had for a 2nd rounder and cap relief....
IMO if we draft Fultz the best option is to trade IT and AB this summer, along with others. Get Jabari, Jahlil Okafor and etc..then go into the next draft with 2 top 5 picks.
Yeah, I get the temptation to dramaticallly spice things up after such a demoralizing loss, but Jahlil Okafor? erm, OK, as a reclamation project for like a second round pick maybe??
Still love Jabari though, Milwaukee may be willing to trade him away too. I wonder if the Bucks would entertain an IT for Jabari trade?
@futureowner
Isaiah Thomas is too much of a defensive liability so your plan is to go get 2 of the guys who are actually worse than Thomas on that side of the ball? really?
2. I imagine Milwaukee would do Parker for Thomas. Jabari is a talented player, but he is just as bad as Thomas on defense and even pre-double acl tears he was never likely to be as good as Thomas on offense. Hes torn the same ACL twice. That is absolutely devastating to a player's career. Only reason they would hesitate is that Parker is an RFA next year and Thomas is a UFA. Thomas fits better, is better, and hasnt torn the same ACL twice. As for us?
I dont like it. Thomas is a star. Trading him for damaged goods would p--- the whole team off.
Plus with Al Avery, Jae and Marcus, Im not sure youd even be bad enough to suck your way into the top 5.
A Fultz/Smart/Rozier/Brown/Parker/Zizic base of talent would be tantalizing, but how many of them would really pan out? neither Fultz nor Zizic's played an NBA game yet. Marcus isnt a star and Parkers a massive risk.
when you create these "lets trade everybody for picks" situations you get to look at all these guys and say he COULD be this or he COULD do that, but the reality is that most of these guys dont live up to the hype.
