Like I said in the game thread, 3s kept them in game along with taking care of the ball.  They then missed a ton of wide open looks, Washington tied the game, then they turned the ball over a ton and got destroyed.

Outside of the major rebounding issue, they are not in trouble if the (a) make open shots, and (b) take care of the ball.  If the do not do that, they will lose at home and the series will be over.

Any basketball team that follows those guidelines will win a game.  A better analysis might be a way to solve why we haven't been able to consistently do these things  over the past four games

More than we can likely handle. This team is severely lacking in talent all over the board. No rebounding, only one offensove threat, and a coach who plays Amir Johnson ahead of a #3 overall draft pick who has played alright.

To be perfectly honest, good teams don't give up these 20+ to 0 runs.

Even if the Celts get past the Wiz, they're gonna get killed by the Cavs. You can't allow LeBron to get huge swings like that and be competitive.

Celts have been down fifteen to twenty in three out of four of these games. In those games they've given up enormous runs.

I'd rather they lose in six or seven to the Wiz than get utterly clowned by LeBron.

LOL yup. agreed.  we have no room for error at home and that is a issue because we saw what we had to pull out a hat to win those games at home. we cannot win in DC>

I disagree with this notion that Cleveland is going to dominate us in 4 in the next round just because of what has happened in this round. This playoffs should remind us of one fact: matchups are everything in the playoffs.

I think we matchup much better with Cleveland than Washington. I at one time thought Washington was a good matchup for us, but their size and length on the perimeter has really hurt us this series. They've also picked up their D significantly, which is in my opinion the biggest factor of this series so far.

Cleveland is an entirely different team. They're very perimeter-oriented offensively, which works very well with how we defend (or at least how we sometimes defend the perimeter), and both Wall and Beal are above-average defenders that can give IT trouble, especially when they get help. Irving and Smith are not like that at all, and we can reasonably hide IT on Smith where we can't at all with Washington right now.

I don't think we'd beat Cleveland, but I think you'd see much more closely-contested games throughout the series with Cleveland.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Boston shot 45 percent from three and gave up a 26-0 run

Not yet. They still have the homecourt advantage.

There is still game 6 to play, either way although small chance to win in Washington. It ain't over till it's actually over. Neither the Celtics nor the Wizards have yet to steal one on the road. Don't let those scoring margin gets into your head. It only counts 1 win no matter how big the margin is.

HOMECOURT ADVANTAGE?

as long as our best player and pg shows he is incapable of playing defense (even in the playoffs) we have no advantage...

Careless turnovers and players like Crowder and Bradley not stepping up is more of a concern than IT's defense.
