Horrible

He is also missing 3s left and right...especially when open

If Celts draft Fultz.. im leaning towards keeping Rozier and trading Smart.

Trade him to a western conference team  though

eh, i'm alright with this.
he's getting the majority of the tough defensive assignments.. you can just tell by his drop in FT%.
exhausting too much energy on defense... but for Wall and Beal, i'll take "defense-only" marcus.

Even at the end of the game, we lined up in different formation that he hadn't seen and he called out our play before I got the ball. I heard him calling it out. -John Wall on Brad Stevens

Smart had about as bad of a game as he's ever had last night. He'll be better next game.

Do you do research before posting?

Smart has been downright atrocious for most of the last two games. However, his three point shooting has actually significantly raised in the playoffs from 28% in the season to 35% in the playoffs.

Now that's still not great, but it's far from how you're characterizing it. For reference, IT is shooting just 27% from 3 in the playoffs so far.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

He is 1-4 games 2, 3 and 1-3 in game 1.. from the 3 pt line

You think this is acceptable?

And his poor defense and size has given up literally hundreds of points in the playoffs this far. What's your point?

I'm not disagreeing with you that Smart has been really bad the last several games and must improve, but his three point shooting is not the thing to focus on since A) he wasn't a good three point shooter to begin with and B) he's actually significantly raised his shooting percentages from the season.

Smart needs to get his head in the game more when we are on offense.  Turnovers killed us in game 3.   IT was to blame as well with multiple stupid drives right into traffic and giving up the ball.  I don't care if Smart doesn't score much, but he needs to take care of the ball.  We need more possessions to win on the road.

Why are you dragging IT into this?  He had just 2 TOVs.   Relative to his minutes, USG and role, that's basically a player with velcro hands.

The point of this thread is his back up, in fewer minutes, fewer touches and far less defensive attention ... coughing up 8 TOVs.
NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

I dunno I am just riled up at the turnovers in general.  Smart was horrible way worse than IT agreed.

So you come out and say the player sucks and then you want to TRADE him?  What do you expect to get back for your garbage aside from someone else's garbage.  Man this mentality annoy the heck out of me.  People only want to trade guys they don't like.

Now anyone that doesn't like a guy and wants to cut him or not resign him, I can live with.

His point is we would be down 0-3 without IT this series. Can't say the same for Smart, since he didn't even close out Game 1. Jaylen Brown did. I honestly don't get the point you're trying to make by bringing up IT and blaming him for our defensive issues. We lost Game 4 because we couldn't score. Defense was an issue, but our offense was putrid. But keep blaming our best player to take some heat off a role player though. Makes a lot of sense.

Smart played horribly but so did the entire team, not like he cost us the game.

Also his travel calls were crap. The refs let the Wizards get away with the same moves often times on the following possession. But again not that it would have made a difference if called on them.

We just stunk, lets not point fingers at individual players and realize the entire team took last night off.

I still think Brad is making a huge mistake by not playing through Al and Marcus in the post.  We are not going to beat Washington on the road by swinging around the perimeter or dribble hand-offs for 3s.

I'm trying hard to understand what this mean. Are you being sarcastic about his shooting?

A career 37% from 3 is actually quite good. He has almost the exact same career 3pt% as Paul Pierce.
