If we can beat the Wiz and then take the Cavs to game 6, it will be more than a successful season. Anything can happen though...an injury, a suspension...anything. I saw Villanova beat Georgetown and I saw the Pats come back from a 28-3 deficit. Anything can happen if you put yourself in the right position.

sure i saw those games also. I also saw NC state upset Phi Slamma Jamma in 83. None of which takes away from what has been said. let's be realistic and keep getting better then we do not have to worry about being some cinderella upstarts that gets lucky and wins it all. Let's have a solid foundation and build a juggernaut that will be around for awhile.
LET'S GO CELTICS!

No use in giving up assets under contract on rookie deals for expiring vets who would need to be re-signed. Look at what it would have taken to get Ibaka, the rumor was Rozier  and a pick?

Look what Rozier  is doing now...

I honestly am starting to believe we can win it all this is year with the ability to put 3 all defensive players on the court with IT and Horford running the offense. Jaylen/Green as the wild card, and KO/Rozier giving you consistent production.

Speaking of Rozier, per BB Insiders:

Quote
Rozier has been a revelation in these playoffs. Boston is outscoring opponents by an unimaginable 29.5 points per 100 possessions with Rozier on court, the best net rating in the playoffs among players averaging at least 15 minutes.

The stats are here:

Rozier hasn't committed a turnover in postseason (125 minutes) and has an amazing +/- and three percentage, as well as rebounding %. Thank God we didn't trade him away for peanuts or a rental a couple of months ago, as many suggested.

Glad for him, hard-worker even when he wasn't playing a lot. Never surrender and earn your minutes, then the rest will come  8)

This is a strong team, but we're still going to be underdogs against Cleveland despite home court, and if we miraculously make it to the Finals, we'll get eviscerated by GSW. PJ Tucker and Serge Ibaka aren't changing that.

I actually think the Celtics match up well against Golden State, and would have a much better chance of beating them than Cleveland.

I am amazed by the fact that GSW's main variation (the Curry, Klay, Iggy, KD, Green) line up is very similar to ours (IT, Bradley, Smart, Crowder, Al). It is a pity that their players are basically better at all 5 positions.

are we closer than what Danny thought at the trade deadline? Would a few little moves have put us over the top into the conversation with Cavs and GSW? Are we in the conversation?

No.  GSW has the core of a 72-win team and the added Kevin Durant on top of it.  When we win 60+ games then we can talk about that.

I think Danny was right not to give up any picks at the deadline for bench players, as you can see that Noel would never even play for us at this point.
