Fans are fake, it is simple as that, I am not calling anybody in particular out, but it's easy to see what fans are just simpletons.

All of a sudden because Kobe coddles one of our players, he deserves respect.

It's one thing to hate the Lakers, which we all do.  But you can still respect your opponent.  Kobe is my second least favorite athlete ever (behind D. Wade) but I have tremendous respect for him as a basketball player and as a competitor (but not as a person).  I also begrudgingly admit to respect for the Lakers organization - think of all the great players that have gone through there, and how many championships they won.  It's fine to hate them, but you can't dismiss their accomplishments.  Contrast that to say, the recent Miami Heat teams, which I both hated and did not respect.

Showing respect doesn't make you soft.  It's sensible when it's deserved.

It makes you soft when you do it because he "helped" IT out.

Again fans are like this. I have no problem, but it is what it is.

Anyone that's playing this game should consider themselves lucky to have an all time great take time to go over film and point out things that could help his game.  Also, you don't know any of these guys personal relationships with one another off court.
