I agree the Bulls would do Crowder + Smart + Nets pick.

The question is, should we?

The Bulls would take that and run.

Ainge BETTER NOT do that.

If we draft Fultz, I would do IT + fillers for Butler. Having said that, that's a lateral move for Chicago. I don't believe they would do it.

I'll take my chances on trying to sign a max fa and whoever we get in the draft over Butler.

I don't think DA would send AB or Smart to the a team that we could see again next year in the playoffs who gave they guy we would trade for fits in this years playoffs.

Maybe a third team like the Timberwolves. Give Tibbs a defensive guy like AB/filler/future picks  thats a vet, which is some thing their team lacks of, they could send LAvine and Rubio, and we get Butler. And I don't think the pick comes into play unless it's 3rd or 4th. Brown might have to be on the block, but we'd have to keep the pick.

Hate to give up AB, but Smart is more willing to come off the bench if we also landed Hayward. And would still have 2017 pick.

Sell high on Rozier at the deadline:

AB or Crowder, Rozier, and the 2018 Nets pick (plus some filler)

If not, pass. They're not getting Smart or Brown or the 17 Nets pick.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

I know the playoffs do not overshadow an entire season of play, but I think a lot has changed since the draft and even the deadline...

Following up on this article: http://www.celticsblog.com/2017/5/3/15533168/the-bulls-front-office-could-be-more-open-to-dealing-jimmy-butler-celtics-trade-nba-boston-chicago

What do you think the price for Butler is now?

The longer they hold onto Butler, the less value they can get (less years on Butler's contract = less leverage = less time for them to make a deal = more desperation). With the comments they just made about him not fitting in, it seems like they understand that sooner rather than later would be in the best interest of all parties (Butler, who wants to win, Bulls, who wants assets and to play coach's style, trade party, who can salvage Butler's prime).

Looking at our players, I think Rozier and Smart have improved their trade value this postseason with their play. The exact position of the Nets pick will probably be the biggest factor in this, but I can imagine a scenario where we don't even have to give it up.

I personally think a Smart / Crowder / 2017 nets pick gets it done now.

Once again I ask, what is wrong with you people? Butler is not worth the 2017 alone not to talk of adding Crowder or Smart.

Bulls fans are delusional if they think they can get 2017 Nets Pick AND like 2 of Crowder/Smart/Brown/2018NETSPICK

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.

I would rather give up something like:

2018 Celtics pick+2017 Brooklyn pick+Memphis pick+Filler.

We need Crowder and Smart for a championship run as defensive depth.

I would give up the Brooklyn pick for him if it's not the #1 pick.

Woudn't give up Crowder or Smart. They don't need either and we need them for a championship run.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I'd give up Next years Brooklyn pick plus our pick next year a couple of future seconds, Rozier, Bradley.
