  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
Allan Williams from the Suns. I would give him a crowder like contract. He  may go for the security like crowder did. He can rebound for sure.

Ibaka.
Ibaka has said he'd like to stay in Toronto.

I like Randolph and Gibson, but I don't think they're going anywhere. We might end up with someone like Ilyasova for the MLE...

Even though Horford has been very solid, I think we could use another rebounding big. It looks like there are a couple available.

Available:

-Griffin
-Milsap
-Ibaka
-Z. Randolph
-Monroe
-Ilyasova
-Taj Gibson
-Jamychal Green
-Nene
-Bogut
-Pachulia
-A. Len

I'd like it if they got one of the Grizzlies bigs (Randolph or J. Green), resign Jerebko, let Amir and KO walk, and bring Yabu and Zizic in.

Thomas/Smart/Rozier
Bradley/Fultz
Crowder/Brown
Randolph/Jerebko/Yabu
Horford/Zizic

depending on how free agency goes, if we cannot get a big name, I could see Danny going after one of these guys provided the money isn't crazy:
Milsap, Ibaka, Green or Taj.  none are really centers unfortunately but they all bring rebounding, defense and some offense --> all to varying degrees.  any of them would bolster our front court.

RFA. Can't have him for cheap.

Well, the best UFA centers this summer are Nene, McGee, and Felicio... and neither of them really bring what we need.

Hi All,

I have been a lurker for years on Celticsblog, I love reading all the insights, and ideas and hype. It is a good day to be a Celtics fan. I wanted to chime in on this discussion, I was talking with my brother and I think it would be real interesting if Milsap takes a pay cut to join us, and then we get Hayward as well. So our starting five would be IT, AB, Hayward, Milsap and Horford. The bench then would get real interesting: Smart, Fultz, Brown, Yabu, and Zizic. I think we would have to trade off Crowder and let Olynk, Zeller, and Jerebko go. I am not sure of all the salary stuff just spitting ideas out there. My logic here is I think Milsap would be an amazing mentor to Yabu, while Horford would be to Zizic. Just my two cents worth, and curious what you all think!

Cheers!

Glad you finally decided to chime in! TP!

Celtics have something like $68 million committed next season to our guaranteed contracts not including Zeller, Amir, Jerebko, Green, Olynyk, and Mickey.  If we trade Crowder (for no incoming salary which would be a stretch), that brings us down to about $61.  The cap is projected to be around $102 million.  If we don't consider things like cap holds which make us even tighter on money, then we have only $41 million to give Hayward + Millsap together.  Hayward is expected to sign for ~$30 million, which would only leave $11 million for Millsap which I think is way too low for him to consider.

EDIT:  I didn't even include Zizic or Yabu's contracts in there as well which would further limit us.

I did not use cheap i meant long with more money. Less per year.

kind of my point --> add talent to the front court even if it's not the ideal talent we need.  the guys who are true 5's on the market aren't really a step up from Zeller or Amir at this point.

I'd love to see Zach Randolph on a 1 + 1 contract. Something like we gave Amir in 2015.

That doesn't make it less likely that the Suns will match.
