Even though Horford has been very solid, I think we could use another rebounding big. It looks like there are a couple available.

Available:

-Griffin
-Milsap
-Ibaka
-Z. Randolph
-Monroe
-Ilyasova
-Taj Gibson
-Jamychal Green
-Nene
-Bogut
-Pachulia
-A. Len

I'd like it if they got one of the Grizzlies bigs (Randolph or J. Green), resign Jerebko, let Amir and KO walk, and bring Yabu and Zizic in.

Thomas/Smart/Rozier
Bradley/Fultz
Crowder/Brown
Randolph/Jerebko/Yabu
Horford/Zizic
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

i think its time to let jerebko go ,he just can't finish that acl injury while at detroit just robbed him of any lift
he drives and throws up some awkward hail mary shot-
when he was a 40% threat from three with hustle on defense

I think the problem with free agency right now is that there's still some extra money floating around with the inflated cap so guys who aren't really max players are going to get max offers (Ibaka, Millsap IMO). But if you're not willing to pay it, the next tier down doesn't entice me all the much (Monroe, Gibson, Ilyasova, et al).

I'll take a hard pass on Zach Randolph, who will turn 36 this summer. Jamychal Green is interesting but is he really better than Olynyk? And what is Memphis willing to pay to keep him around if ZBo is not long for this league?

Injuries be darned, I still think if Griffin wanted to leave, I'd max him out and not think twice about it. Otherwise, I'm not sure what you do with this crop of free agent bigs. Maybe Ilyasova? Maybe look farther down the list to names like Plumlee or Aaron Baynes. Take a flier on Donatas Motiejunas?

I just don't see many of these guys as game changers for the C's unless they're willing to overpay.

With Olynyk vs. Green you'd be sacrificing offensive playmaking for better defense. Green has also developed a 3 pt. shot, which is nice. The key for me is that Green could play with the starters and maintain the defense and some rebounding while still not hurting your spacing. The problem with Kelly is that his poor footspeed/defense means that he'll always be a role player off the bench, and as long as that is the case you cannot justify paying him too much.

Anyway, it's likely a moot point. You'd have to overpay since Green is a RFA. I'd like to use the cap space on a star but Green wouldn't be a bad plan B or C.

Ainge may decide to try to keep everyone and take a shot at James Johnson or Patrick Paterson for reasonable money. Neither guy would improve our rebounding, but they both play great defense and they would fit nicely into our offensive schemes.

Taj Gibson would be great and probably won't command an insane price. Landing James Johnson would be a dream, but I feel like the Heat are gonna pay him.

I'd go for Nene with our room exception if we sign Hayward. Provides us depth and toughness against bigger teams.
Jaylen Brown for All-NBA

Not sure the money will be reasonable enough, but I actually like Greg Monroe's fit with our current roster.  He's a big boy, and he's not unskilled.

I think the likelihood of us having cap space to sign any of these guys is highly unlikely. If we miss out on a max guy I don't think we start filling the void with multiple players as it would really hurt us in 2018 when we try to re-sign our guys.

We are likely looking at vet min guys or a senior in college that could do a job straight away. Bogut is the only real possibility on that list I think, not sure how long he's out for though?

We need to figure out a way to trade Bradley for a big. I think that is the solution to the Celtics problem. Right now it looks like the Celtics have at the very least two scorers in Thomas and Fultz. Only way we can trade Thomas is if we can get a scorer type player back.

I like Ilyasova, wonder what the cost would be.
