http://www.csnne.com/video/felger-vs-tanguay-which-players-should-celtics-build-around

So basically, the discussion is "what players to build around"

1. Tanguay basically says, if the Celtics sign Hayward, keep Isaiah Thomas on a max-deal, BUT if they fail to sign Hayward, BLOW IT UP 100% and don't re-sign Thomas and just build with 2017 Nets Pick and Brown...  :o (Pretty extreme take)

2. He calls Smart overrated, and says he doesn't do anything on the floor and isn't buying the "winning plays" sentiment...  >:(

3. Says Paul George and Gordon Hayward can't co-exist because they are elite wing players who would interfere with each other's minutes, which I guess is somewhat true but I mean, I think they are versatile in that they can play multiple positions depending on the situation.

4. He doesn't like the "if this player makes X, this player should make that..." argument and says Bradley isn't worth 17M/Year even though Evan Turner is virtually making the same with Portland :P

The funny part is that Felger was actually pretty reasonable in this whole video, which is a rarity.

Oh, and Tanguay is the same guy who said Bulls have a ton more talent on their roster than Boston, AND he predicted Bulls in 6 before the series began.

NOW he's saying the Celtics are benefiting because the Wizards don't have "any guts" and if this was another team the C's would get swept. (On another CSNNE video)

How does this guy have a job on CSNNE??

1. Way off
2.  Not way off
3.  I think he's right in that it would not be the best pairing
4.  Way off

And he might have been right about the Bulls had Rondo not gotten hurt.

I don't disagree entirely with number 3 either. The others I do.

And yeah Rondo going down hurt them.

But he clearly berates the Celtics whenever he can. Didn't predict they'd beat CHI before we even saw Rondo do well Games 1-2. And he'd always been down on Rondo, now suddenly he's the Lebron of Chicago.

Murray is okay, but yeah his takes on the C's are annoying me a bit too.

The Celtics would win a Finals and these guys would still have complaints.

When Patriots won, they were like "but what if Carr got injured", "what if they did this..." yadda yadda.  ::)

I caught a bit of the Jazz game last night and all I took away is that Gordon Hayward seemed content to camp in the corner for entire possessions time after time. I guess I could argue it's lousy offensive schemes, but I didn't see a difference maker on the floor.

I used to watch a lot of programming on CSNNE, but it's become unbearable ever since they aligned themselves with Boston Hot Take Radio (98.5). The new Early Edition and BST are both unwatchable in my opinion.

I would argue that our top 3 playmakers IT, AB, and AL are better than any play makers the Jazz have. I think Haywood's efficiency and usage would be totally different in Boston.

I realize Tanguay is an annoying talking head. But honestly, keeping in mind that a championship is the main goal, and not just making the playoffs for the next few years. He wasn't far off.

IT needs help, if Hayward stays with the Jazz, and George stays with Indy, and Butler stays on the Bulls. (For me, Melo is out of the question.)

Over paying AB, Smart, and Crowder shouldn't be an option. I love this team, but a ring...or at least a shot at a ring should be the goal. Seriously...won't know how good this team is, or isn't, until we play the Cavs, Spurs, Warriors, or even Toronto in a 7 game series.

Tanguay is quite possibly the stupidest man in Boston sport's media, and that is saying something. He guaranteed a Bulls win. He guaranteed a Wizards win. He consistently denigrates IT. That said, it's a tossup whether he or Felger are the more ignorant when it comes to basketball.

The good news is that with the onset of podcasts, blogging, and the internet in general, you now have a lot of alternatives that are "nothing like the terrible analysts on the TV".

Guys like Tanguay, Felger, Mazz, etc. are like the Emperor from Star Wars. They feed off your outrage while whispering "Goooooood, use your angehhhhhrrrrr."

Just tune it out.
