8-second violations

I apologize in advance if this has been discussed elsewhere, but I haven't seen it. Love what IT has done so far in the playoffs, but one thing that has me a little concerned is how close he gets to an 8-second violation on at least half of the possessions where he brings the ball up the court. It's not like it takes so long because he's being pressured - he's just taking his time. Not only does it give us less time on the shot clock to run the offense, but I'm concerned that he'll take a tenth of a second too long one of these times and they'll call it at a crucial moment in the playoffs. Has anyone else noticed this too?

I thought it would get called as soon as it hits 16. But that's when the guy barely crosses the mid-line of the court lol.

Very rare to see it get called. But it's not just IT who does this.

The only people I've seen get called are former Celtics champions and during the playoffs :

A violation is when 15 shows on the clock.
IT is very aware of the clock and I believe it is intentional.
Not only the Cs has no problem whatsoever to find an offensive solution in 16 seconds, but it give the players extra time to rest in between intensive defensive possession.
Unless transition, IT always prefer to drag half court.
Not a concern to me, but more of a game plan.

I'm also not concerned. IT is managing time. He is a smart player with a high basketball IQ.

In the last game against Chicago he violated it 3 or 4 times. He normally crosses the line at 17s. I'm not sure why either, I don't see an advantage gained

it's very annoying---for the main fact, that it gives the defense so much time to set up and us less time for us to score.

Glad to see I'm not the only one noticing how close IT is to the violation on every single possession ! I'm more of the "let's get the most of the 24 seconds shot clock" camp but this strategy seems to be working so far, so I can't complain.

Anyway TP to OP, i was thinking the same thing, in one game against the bulls, i started to pay attention and, IT could have been called for it at least 5-6 times.
I have no idea why the refs don't call thoose, like, isaiah cannon tried to pressure IT several times full court, and did a good job, and you bail IT out by not calling the 8 sec.

They have 8 seconds to get it past half court.  A violation occurs when they take longer than that.  If it was like the game clock it would be at 15.9 seconds but since it's only in seconds it needs to get below sixteen before it's a violation.
