Now haters be saying Celtics getting lucky with all these injuries on the opposing teams.  ::)
We are getting lucky.  But I'll take lucky over unlucky any day.

Oh, and did anyone else see the Wizards fans and several writers that were claiming that Horford might have injured Morris on purpose, just because a similar situation happened to Beal a couple of years back? Even Morris himself was hinting at that and said he would ask Horford about it. Talk about petty!

I did see that. I have to admit, that was pretty crafty of Horford. He waited until just the right moment when he could try and block a shot, twisting his body in just such a way that he could step on Morris's foot. I'm guessing that he practiced that play in warm-ups.

It'd be incredibly impressed if he plays within the next 1-2 weeks. That was undoubtedly the most extreme ankle sprain I've ever seen.

Havec you heard about Paul George? :D

Injuries to other teams happen and usually the team that stays the healthiest and/or has the best talent win in the post season. The Celtics are one of the healthiest teams in the league this year and have good talent and have a very good bench. So if people are going to minimize the Cs accomplishments because they are staying healthy and their opponents aren't, then they just don't understand playoff badketball.

At last, in a season as endless as the NBA's, what matters is not burning your players with minutes. And in the regular season no Celtics player has been on the court more than 33 minutes, so we can keep away from injuries (I know, Rondo's and Morris' were casual plays, but I hope my point is undestood).

Give credit to Stevens in this details as well.

I think you do make a good point. Our players certainly seem to be charging through the finish line while the opponent has been stumbling towards it. We have looked full of energy down the stretch in each of the last 5 games, while opponents have been dragging up and down the court.

That said, Markieff Morris and Rajon Rondo's injuries were both fluke plays. Had nothing to do with guys being worn thin.

Kieffs' was one of the worst sprains Ive ever seen in terms of how far the ankle bent.

Obviously broken legs and ankles and torn ligaments are worse and with ankle sprains, how far it bent isnt always the best indicator of how serious the sprain is.

Morris stepped on Horford not the other way around. Morris went up for the shot and when he came down his foot landed directly on top of Horford's foot which caused him to twist his ankle violently. I highly doubt Horford did it on purpose - it happened too fast and he seemed like he was just playing tight defense. Maybe I'm just naive....

Kieff may hobble out there to play, but he will be a shell of himself out there. Its a big injury. Not unlike Crowder last year. Kieff is very important to them on both sides of the ball and having him hobbling around will really hurt their chances.

I think people have also overlooked Mahimni, who is a good defender.

Players are aware of the danger in landing on someones foot and they know that you have to give shooters room to land. That said, I dont think it was dirty.

I do find it hilarious that other fanbases are under the impression that we have 2 Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.ing enforcers down low in Kelly Olynyk and Al Horford.

Everyone knows not to Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. with Boston or else you have to deal with Kelly and Al.

I just saw video of him shooting. I don't know how he's playing tonight. I think Brooks holds him out until Thursday and not make it worse. It's only game #2.

That would be the smart move.

And the Wiz are WAY tougher at home.

Now is not the time to go all in to try to steal one here. Game 5 or game 7 would be the better moves.

If they can hold serve, they are better off going all in later in the series.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I like how Morris is considered so integral these days considering PHX couldn't even give him away last year, despite having a great value contract (Note: they did eventually get a mid-first round pick which was more than they could have ever hoped for at the time).

I realize he has played well this season and most of his issues were mental, but Washington has just been riding the wave of Markieff and should have definitely had a contingent plan in place had things not gone so smoothly.

IDK, but after the Morris injury I just have a bad feeling that they're gonna try injuring Isaiah or Avery. Washington is a dirty team.

Then Celtics need to win game 2, and steal one in Washington quickly.

The Celtics haven't won at Chicago since 2014 before the postseason, and guess what...the Celtics won 3 in a row at Chicago in the playoffs.
