Brooks: Morris isnt practicing. Will be gametime #WizCeltics #WASatBOS

As far as Morris's status for Tuesday's Game 2, Brooks has not ruled him officially out yet -- but judging by his tone, chances are slim

Brooks indicates Jason Smith will get more minutes in the five-spot  in Game 2, especially considering Morris's status.

Even when Morris comes back those high sprains are hard to get back from. Washington is a very shallow team so this really hurts them. Health is the most important factor in the playoffs.

those ankle sprains do not heal overnight. he is probably done for the series and if he comes back he will be nowhere near 100%. football players play with them for weeks without healing all the way.
LET'S GO CELTICS!

Celtics should win in 5 with no Morris. That small ball lineup we were able to play once he got hurt destroyed Washington, and the differences in bench quality between the two teams were clear as day. It's also obvious the Gortat can't handle extended minutes. Celtics really need to capitalize on this injury.

One could answer having depth helps against injuries, even if in this case both Rondo and Morris are just unlucky.

But still, it's easy to say things would have been different afterwards. No one can tell if the Bulls would have won with Rondo. Maybe Celtics won thanks to Gerald Green instead.

And finally, last year we lost avery on the first round so everyone has his turn.

Kinda like how the Lakers got lucky in '09 because KG got injured, and also in '10 because KG hadn't fully recovered.

Jordan might not have won 6 titles—and the Cs might have more than 17 by now—if Len Bias and Reggie Lewis hadn't died.

Injuries have happened to the Celtics plenty of times, so I don't think it's unfair if it benefits them for a change.

And Perkins in '10.

It'd be incredibly impressed if he plays within the next 1-2 weeks. That was undoubtedly the most extreme ankle sprain I've ever seen.

Yup, that too.

Morris is adamant that he'll play tomorrow, though ultimately I don't think it's his call. As others have said, even if he does come back, he won't be near the player he was. That kind of ankle sprain is really hard to recover from, and a guy that relies on athleticism like Morris will have real trouble with it.

I expect him back for game three, but I don't see how he plays tomorrow, at least with any sort of effectiveness.

I'm good with that. Haters gonna hate. Maybe they can inscribe that on the banner that goes in our lofts next year.

I firmly believe the Celtics were going to beat the Bulls, even with Rondo.  However, I am sure the haters especially in the national media that need to believe in simple reasons like injuries.  There's so many other things that impact winning and as usual, the national media will not credit Brad, or Ainge (for the depth).

Oh, and did anyone else see the Wizards fans and several writers that were claiming that Horford might have injured Morris on purpose, just because a similar situation happened to Beal a couple of years back? Even Morris himself was hinting at that and said he would ask Horford about it. Talk about petty!
