Rozier going after rebounds yesterday was fierce, beautiful and game changing.
I loved it!
In game 1 against the Wizards Rozier had a MASSIVE impact on the game, and he did it without really doing much at all on the offensive end. He came in early while we were down, he destroyed the boards (where Washington had been killing us prior), and he did a really good defensive job on John Wall (who had also been killing us prior).
During those minutes he had a massive impact and (along with Kelly and IT) was instrumental to Boston coming back from that 16-0 hole - and he did it pretty much without scoring.
That's what I love about Rozier. He is a very good shooter and a very capable scorer, but when he's not making shots he can still control the game with his defence and his rebounding - one of the key attributes of a star player is the ability to impact the game in a variety of ways, and he's shown he can do that.
Per 36 (in the playoffs) he's averaging 13.5 Pts, 6.8 Reb, 3.1 Ast, 1.1 Stl, 0.8 blk and 0 turnovers while shooting 43% / 45% / 90%.
Yes, you read that right. In 7 playoff games and 128 playoff minutes this season, Rozier
does not have a single turnover.
In fact in his rookie year he was similarly impressive - 5 games and 99 minutes played in the playoffs as a rookie, and only 2 turnovers.
So for his career Rozier has recorded only 2 turnovers across 12 playoff games. That's mighty impressive for such a young player who honestly hasn't had that much opportunity.
Rozier's career turnover rate is 10.7% for the regular season, and 3.1% for the playoffs. That's some of the lowest turnover numbers I've ever seen for an NBA PG.
