Prediction time - I'm guessing we see a much better effort by the C's and win this game comfortably. Losing Rondo is the exact type of change that Hoiberg will have trouble adjusting to, let alone the players, and combining that with a better overall effort by the C's, I think we win this one going away.

And Bingo was his name-o!

I do think Rondo's absence will be overplayed in the media, though. We were due for this game after the last two stinkers, and they were due for a stinker after playing way over their heads the last two games.

I don't. They're a totally different team without him on the floor in these plsyoffs. That was true before the injury.

And is #PlayoffRozier a thing now?

Got the game we needed.  Great 2nd half from the C's.
Real nice response after that 2nd quarter

KG gave the C's an inspirational message pre-game. Awesome! I love it!

Also: best player for the Celtics I thought was Al.  His movement and screening really allowed IT to combat how they were playing him, especially in the second half.  He had some ridiculous plays.  The one assist where he spun off of a pass that should have been a turnover to a no look in the corner was amazing.

The real reason the Celtics lost games 1 and 2: we had to make sure we didn't blow a 3-1 lead
I'm bitter.

Good win.  Props to Horford, and props in particular to Bradley.  He's had games where he scored more, but I don't think he's had too many games where he played better than he did tonight.  15/7/7 on efficient shooting with 2 steals and just 1 TO.  Very good defense all night.  A great performance.

He'd have Ko crying in 5 minutes.

I say have him on the front row next to Bill Russell.

Retire his jersey too!

I do think Rondo's absence will be overplayed in the media, though. We were due for this game after the last two stinkers, and they were due for a stinker after playing way over their heads the last two games.

It's part that, part Chicago regressing shooting wise, but also Rondo deserves credit for the first two games.  He was great, from passing, to his defense, and the rebounding was big (and helped them on the break).  I would have been interested to see how the C's adjusted but they simply had to play better and stronger and this was that no doubt.

Oh certainly. Let alone losing Rondo's contributions, but him being such a ball-dominant PG the whole offense changes for them without him playing, which is a major change for them to deal with.

But I thought that they'd play better regardless. We played too terribly and they played too well in the first two games for both of those things to continue the rest of the series.

Did a good job on D (contested shots better, as did the whole team) and also did a good job going to the rim when we needed him to.  Sometimes I definitely wish he would more but tonight that was not the case.  Like I mentioned, I think it helped IT a ton.

I'd like nothing more than KG to be part of our organization moving forward.  He'd do a lot to remind young players what it means to play for the Celtics.  And he'd help to bring toughness back.
