Jaylen doesn't really have a chance at the rookie of the year award but he did make ESPN's 5-man poll on who should win. He's got a shot at making the all rookie 1st team.

Brad Stevens also makes the coach of the year poll, and Isaiah Thomas makes the MVP poll.

Good he utterly deserves it. He has proven that he could become a very serviceable shooter one day, he is a physical beast for his position, and he has shown a knack for making special plays when given the opportunity. For a rookie on the 1/2 seed in the east, he has done everything asked of him. This is even before you take into account his better than advertised defense.

He deserves to be on the 1st rooks team. I know, I know that it will be cluttered by scrubs who put up better numbers on dumpster fire of teams, but Jaylen has been very effective on a very good team. The only other rookie who has had a better impact on a good team is Brogdon, and he has a lot bigger role.

Kudos to Jaylen, don't rob him NBA. Embiid, Saric, Brogdon, Murray and Brown should be the starting 5 in my opinion.

Why fault a rookie who is drafted onto a bad team? Obviously the best rookies and highest prospects are drafted to the worst teams. That is how the NBA works. Just because the 76ers stink this year doesn't make what Saric is doing any less impressive.

I get why someone would have a problem with Embiid given he had two years if practice with the team but Saric wasn't in the NBA at all until this year. He is clearly a rookie by any definition of the word.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

I don't think he means Saric.  More like Buddy Hield or Marquess Chriss.

Sorry it was more directed at the Kings of the world. I agree Saric has looked very good (hence why I had him 2nd on the 1st team behind embizzle.) Sorry for the confusion haha.

Right now in that poll Brad is tied for first with D'Antoni and Brown is third behind Embiid and Bronson. IT is understandably last.

I think Brad ends up Coach of the Year if we get first. To get first after the injuries and everything that we've had to our starters and core players is pretty crazy. Also, iirc D'Antoni's Houston team has been the healthiest team all season. I think it comes down to those two, but getting the number one seed and the four year gradual improvement that Brad has had gives him the edge over D'Antoni.

I also think Danny should be GM of the Year. I know it didn't exactly happen all this year, but has it ever occurred where a conference's first seed had the best shot at the lottery, too? He also had the second biggest free agent signing this offseason, and though I do think he deserves some blame for not doing anything at all to improve this team at the deadline, especially in some of our weaker areas, he certainly deserves praise for not making an overpay for George or Butler.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

They're both younger than Brogdon...

Saric was solid in the beginning of the year. His numbers have certainly been very impressive the second half of the season. However, the numbers increasing have also coincided with Philadelphia moving Illasova and Noel, losing Embid, Losing Okafor and playing alongside Holmes, Long and some really fringe NBA players (Holmes is a legit 3rd stringer, perhaps second stringer). I think how he looked in this situation has really been tough to judge, especially when you throw in the fact that a lot of teams they were playing against started resting their key guys and not playing their key players. It will be really interesting to see how he looks next year playing with real NBA players in meaningful games both teams are trying to win.

It isn't faulting them. It's the very realistic understanding that a high profile rookie on a dumpster fire team will get a LOT more run that one contending for a title. You think if JB was playing on the 76ers or Phoenix he wouldn't be putting up 20 a game?

Brandon Ingram isn't even in consideration with his terrible numbers. Seen many laker fans on the laker forums wanting to trade him. Lol
