I don't understand why Smart is over Thomas, Bradley, and Crowder. I disagree and think those players could fetch you more on the open market. Not a fan of Chad Finn....

Completely illogical to include starters, coach and management.  Could we trade Danny Ainge? Of course not.  Is Al Horford really only their 6th best asset?

In addition, I don't see the logic of listing them in reverse order.  Trying to build drama into the article?  It doesn't.  I got through 20, 19, 18, then just skipped down.

Any one of us here could have done as good a job.

Chad Finn is awesome.

If you don't like the list, make your own.

On the open market, the kind of asset you could get for undersized, peaking Thomas and Bradley from teams with good records who want to win more and don't have expendable good players to lose and don't have top-tier draft picks to trade ...is less than what you could get for one of the most dynamic defenders in the league who just turned 23 from worse teams who have better picks to trade and who don't mind losing veterans.

Not illogical. We can trade Stevens. And it's Ainge who ultimately gathered all the assets, the prime mover of sorts, the Prime Asset. Even if he can't technically be traded, doesn't mean he's not an asset, and...you sure he can't be traded like Doc was? If ownership can trade Ainge, then it's completely logical.

Any of us could do that list as well? Then do it.

I'm not sure that Marcus' trade value is what we're hoping for. Crowder, AB, and the Brooklyn picks were listed as roadblocks to landing a start, not Smart.

His inefficiency (which is bottom ten among guys playing rotation minutes) may scare teams off.

No need to be sarcastic.  I don't given anyone credit just because they were first.  The list sucks and gave you my reasons.

I don't consider management to be an asset for trades, which is mainly the reason to write such an article.  Yes, Doc was 'traded', so what?  That was more like a compensatory pick than an actual trade.

My list: Reverse the order (best asset FIRST) but take out all management, coaches.  That's a start.

I think he significantly underranked the Clippers pick.
Otherwise, he nails it, IMO.

"I don't consider management to be an asset for trades"

I don't consider it that kind of list. Think of it as a list of assets for a hypothetical bankruptcy auction. I mean, no, Wyc isn't going to trade Brad or Danny. But, technically, he could. He did trade Doc. You're talking about an owner who literally did trade the coach one time, for a pick.

Adding to this, assets are not just for trading - they can also be used to attract free agents. Coach, GM and ownership can play a role in that.

BS list. If Jaylen Brown is the best player asset we have, we're effed.

Crowder might be a better player than Bradley, and he's on one of the best contracts in the league. I'd probably bump Smart down, too.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.
