It is not surprising how confident everyone is on a Celtics board, but this match up scares me to death. The Bulls are going to be a tough out.
Nothing scares me more than Avery's health
man we didn't really have a good time with him in the playoffs

Bulls in five
*IT gets double-teamed the entire series, which, Marcus Smart interprets as a 'green light' to chuck-at-will
*Horford will do his usual disappearing act
*Marcus Smart will deliver 3-15 shooting each game (or worse)
*AB will pull up lame in game one and miss the remainder of the series
*Jae Crowder, in between timeouts, argues on twitter with C's fans about Gordon Hayward
*Brad Stevens has a stroke mid-game

Throw this along your gloom and doom post in the Nets thread.

You call it Doom and Gloom, and you have a right to your opinion, but....
All I know is: if Lin is HEALTHY this season, the Celtics don't even sniff the top five of the lottery.

Among Chicago, Indiana and Miami, I think Chicago is the easiest matchup for us. They can't exploit us underneath on both ends of the floor to the extent that the other teams can, and they don't have as many weapons shooting from 3. Each game might be close, but I think we take this series in 5 as long as everyone remains healthy.

Interested to see what the chippiness factor ends up being in this series.

Obviously, different teams from the late New Three/Rose&Noah squads that had boatloads of chippiness but given the personalities involved, it could get pretty exciting.

Good question. If I'm Chicago, I think I expand Rondo's role in this series. The only way the Bulls win this series is if Rondo plays like he did in 2012 and puts Chicago on his back.

If Rondo is playing a major role, I'm sure there'll be a decent amount of chippiness, and at least one of our players usually gets into it with Wade as well. I'm sure a big part of our defensive game plan will be to limit Butler's open looks and to frustrate him, so I could see that boiling over as well.

Oh my goodness. If we have another Kevin Dasd situation then...

That had to be the most fun I've ever had here.

So many people here are overly confident.  The Bulls always play us tough, we've never been out of the first round.

None of us should be this confident regardless of who we play in the 1st round.

'we've never been out of the first round'? How did we win those 17 championships?

Yeah but I should have clarified I'm talking about this specific team of players over the last 2 1/2 years.

Careful, you may have too change your name to 'Coherent'.

You guys are good. :)

If I had to choose a 1st round opponent between the Bulls, Bucks, Pacers, and the Hawks, it would easily be the Bulls.  And for what it's worth, if we make it to the 2nd round, I'd much rather play the Wizards than the Raptors (and obviously the Cavs).  I think the matchups lined up as well as they could for us.

Celtics win in 6 games max.

Some thoughts:
1) Stevens is a better coach than Hoiberg by a vast margin.
2) Butler is a very good player, but he's not good enough to carry the Bulls past us.  Rondo and Wade are shells of their former selves to state the obvious.
3) The Bulls' bench is a joke.  Any combination of MCW, Mirotic, Valentine, Lauvergne, Grant, etc. does not concern me.  At all.
4) Taj Gibson is no longer.  He usually killed us on the glass especially alongside Lopez.  Without him we'll still be outrebounded, but by a lesser margin.
5) The Bulls are a poor outside shooting team, tied for 25th in the league as a team at 34% from 3-point range.  In order for them to beat us 4 our out of 7 times, they'll need to consistently shoot the ball well - a tall order for a team comprised of poor shooters.
6) We're simply a better team on both ends of the floor.

My coworker is a Bulls fan, but wouldn't commit to a $100 bet on the winner.  He agreed that loser would pick up the next bar tab though.  I can handle a lot of alcohol, so I'll get my value's worth anyway.

We'll be fine.

I believe it will be a tough series but we'll come out on top.

Two years of disappointments BUT overall team growth has us ready to take the next step(s).

Chicago will be hungry but this team's appetite for success is considerably more.

The good thing about NBA playoffs is that they are a best of 7 series and you just have to win 4 games.

This game would have me sweating balls all over it if it was a best of 1 series because the Bulls are decently good with that star Butler on their roster.

Oh so now you know the future? Or you're now telling me Jeremy Lin will make them a playoff team? Coz newsflash, even the 14th best odds can win the lottery. Oh BTW, you arrogantly called the Nets season at 5 effin games played. How did that go again?

In the small number of posts you have, a whole lot of them are negativity towards the Celtics. I call that a certain mythological creature that starts with T.
