I think it's just that he didn't give him and extension when one could've been offered, for the purpose of maintaining flexibility this summer.

 .If we get 50 wins he gets his 12.5 million dollars, if we get 60 wins that's a huge bonus.

I dont think this would effect Smart and Crowder that much. They already despise losing.

Less motivated players would show a little more fire.
