i don't know how many times i have read the celts didn't get past first round
no avery bradley, crowder hobbled and kelly with a shoulder that needed to be operated on, sully ate his way to 315lbs-the loss of avery on offense and defense and crowder slowed, left marcus to defend  and isaiah exposed
that was three major players leaving the celts so shorthanded they threw rozier in after playing minutes with celts all season
jerebko stepped up
the celtics didn't lose that playoff the injuries did-so this season, i hope isaiah gives up his quest for league high scorer ,we play a disciplined defense rather than kamikaze and get a rested sharp isaiah and bradley,a healthy crowder and confident kelly-
my only concern is teams let up and brooklyn starts winning

We didn't win, either.

I don't think you have to worry about Brooklyn too much.

Well we DID lose the playoffs, but here is what I think rollie is trying to say:

With better health plus a better team now (Horford instead of a fat Sullinger, IT and Smart both improved, etc.) the Celtics could go a lot farther in the playoffs.  This is true, but other teams are better now too such as Toronto (liked their moves at the deadline) and Washington (unless their recent success is a smokescreen).

thanks for clarification but i was tired of hearing celtics can't get out of first round
the fabric of the celtics was ther defense and with crowder hobbled and avery gone and no kelly to stretch the floor
-surrounded by our better defenders it is much harder to exploit isaiah
the fact we won two games with marcus shutting down millsap and isaiah having a big game-
injuries beat us

The Hawks had Al Horford and Paul Millsap.
The Celtics lost last year's playoffs even with a healthy Bradley. It just would've gone to 7 games.

Yeah. The remaining Celtics played extremely poorly, with the exception of Thomas.

A loss is a loss. No lame excuses.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Loss is a loss, but it tells you nothing about how good this year's team is.

we lost. Its important to remember the context surrounding the loss, but to say "we didnt lose" is ridiculous.

cmon now we are better than that.

The Hawks were just a terrible match-up. I'm fairly certain that if we had faced the Heat or the Hornets instead we would have gone to the second round.

I wouldnt go so far as to say nothing,  but this is the right take.

I mean, you  were still able to learn something about some of our players, but the idea that we have a first round monkey on our backs seems a bit absurd to me.

I would have expected us to beat both those teams as well, but with Crowder useless and AB out and Kelly useless, no one was going to be an easy matchup.

We lost.  Deal with it.

I always said when I left the Celtics, I could not go to heaven, because that would
be a step down. I am pure 100 percent Celtic. I think if you slashed my wrists, my
blood would’ve been green.  -  Bill "Greatest of All Time" Russell

"Celts play worse in the playoffs" "IT is easy to shut down in the playoffs" etc. etc. All of these hot takes based off a pinch of small sample size mixed with a pinch of absolutely nothing.
