Tonight came down to the line we had plenty of opportunities to close out this game but everybody missed curciak free throws.when  Marcus and Jaylen go to the line I'm never surprised when they split a pair which is unfortunate they both should be shooting around 80% as well as everyone else on this team. Isaiah third in the league when it comes to the "easiest shot in basketball" could of made up for jaylens crunch time miss but ended up doing the same thing. I think its easy to say IT wanted this win more than usual for obvious reasons and it wasn't the main reason we lost but it was one of them. At the end of the day besides our rebounding woes it came down to the charity stripe tonight

actually, this shows the celtics as the number one free throw team in terms of percentages.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I know we usually excel when it comes to free throws but it was our downfall tonight. The two im worried about most moving forward is Jaylen and Marcus especially when a big part of their games are driving to the lane drawing contact but not being able to take advantage. I believe Jayson will improve faster than Marcus

That isnt really indicative of our teams ft shooting ability tho, because thomas is 91% and he takes like 70% of our free throws.

Marcus Smart is a 79% free throw shooter.

Ah...thats right. So including tonight thats 85% since the All-Star break. Still kinda silly to complain about his free throw shooting recently or this year.

IT was 10-11 at the line last night. It sucks that the one he missed was as crucial as it was but I don't think you can ask for more than 91% at the line from anyone.

Jaylen has to be looking pretty hard at that part of his box score, though. 5-10 last night and he's below 70% on the season. With his physicality and his style of attacking the rim, he's gotta get above 75% and be more consistent.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Bummer that one free throw from any of those guys down the stretch would have made the difference. It may have a been a three-point loss, but if we were up by one, IT would have just caught the ball and got fouled rather than fumbling away. In fact, PHO would likely have attempted a three to tie  (instead of an easy lay-up) and likely missed it since our defense would be guarding against it.

Hard to complain about our team ft% since we are #1, but clutch free throws make our break you. Terrible loss, hopefully we can steal one in LA or GSW and get a solid W in DEN.
