They have the easiest remaining schedule in the league, 11 games at home ,9 on the road.

Ty Lue already said the cavs will be resting their stars at the end of the season(from Doug Collins). They are still trying to integrate a bunch of new players into their system, and love will be rusty , if he even gets back before the playoffs.

If we get the #1 seed it doesn't guarantee a trip to the ECF, but it certainly makes it a lot more doable. Tor and cavs would have to face each other in the 2nd rd.

Washington is no pushover, but cle and tor have deeper/more talented teams IMO

Calling it now C's getting the 1 seed and HCA through the east!

currently 538 predicts us 1 game behind cavs at the end of the season, so its totally possible that we could overtake them by then. I'm just not too sure if #1 seed is our best bet; it would mean that we play toronto in the 2nd round instead of the wizzards.

#1 seed and we have to figure out how to beat either Detroit or Chicago in the first-round, especially Chicago. They always seem to have our number.

East Semis will be another tough one between Raptors/Wizards/Hawks.

I like the #2 seed better.

I predict every playoff series this group wins will go 7 games and every series we lose will go 4-5 games.

It's not out of the question, especially if Lue rests guys.  I don't think he cares about seeds.

I dont want to see Toronto if Lowry is back.

I think we have a better chance to make the ECF if we play Washington in the second round.

I don't see a lot of separation between Toronto and Washington and both are matchup problems for the C's. A #1 seed really only comes into play if the C's make it to the ECF.

And yeah, it would be a nice confidence boost to have the best record in the East.

I won't be shocked if they overtake Cleveland but I'm not counting on it.

I called it before you did, perhaps before anyone on this board.

Yea, i wouldn't want to play Chicago.  They've always been a bad match up and we always snooze when playing them.

I highly doubt we snooze in the playoffs.

Im not too worried about Chicago.

I dont want to play Toronto or Atlanta and obviously Cleveland.

Everyone else, I feel pretty good about beating.

If we get the #1 seed, that means we're playing well.  I doubt our players and coaches, or for that matter players and coaches on any other team, are really worrying about how the match-ups work out.

The think Cleveland is approaching this with the idea that they can beat anyone in the east home court or not so they will rest and experiment with lineups rather than go for wins.  I guess in that context we could overtake them but who cares really.

I think Cleveland needs to be careful though.  I think they assume they will see GSW in the finals and figure there is no way they will have home court.  But if another team in the west gets to the finals (say Houston), this approach by Cleveland could backfire by them losing game 7 in Houston or  something like that.

It is always bad karma to not just try to win games.  If I was advising them, I would say pick a point in time some time in the next couple of weeks and from that point forward, treat every game like a playoff game.  Settle on the rotations and go hard to win every game, every quarter, every possession.  If they just coast and plan on "flipping the switch" in the playoffs, bad things can happen.
