Source? Anything?

I mean, I'm sure they'd like to get Paul George, but that doesn't mean anything will happen.

Edit: Source added
I'm bitter.

Well sure.  Magic has to do something.  It's why Jeannie Buss pulled the trigger yesterday (before the deadline).  She admits it should have been even sooner.

Why?

Exactly, why? We have the single best asset on the market by far, and the Lakers can't even legitimately trade a pick until 2021 (practically speaking, there's no point in Indy getting this year's pick that will almost certainly go to Philly if George goes to LA). Further, the rest of their assets are pretty much similar or worse than ours, so I don't see how they're even in play.

EDIT: And it says explicitly that he wants to contend for a title, which just will NOT happen with him in LA anytime in the near future.

Hey, if Magic was recently desperate for a super star...they could offer Ingram, Russell and Randle for George straight up..plus a future first...it works in machine.  ;D How will I get any work done over the next 24 hours? That is the question.

Wait, there is no way the Lakers have better assets than the Celtics. Bird wouldn't do this

Russell, Ingram or Randle aren't better than what the Celtics can offer. George would still be losing if those guys are dealt. The Lakers pick is also conveyed to Philly if it's not top 3.

Celtics have better assets and are winning now.

Bird do not betray us...green runs deep.

  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
And how can the Lakers convince George that they can build a title contender around him, when the Celtics literally have enough assets to at least bring in another one, and more, and already on the cusp of contending with home court advantage?

Just because you grew up as a Lakers fan, doesn't mean your perception will instantaneously change due to favorable destinations. We've seen how that has affected the Lakers in previous years. So we'll see how Johnson plays a role in affecting that outcome.

Poorly written article.  Magic wants a superstar, therefore he's currently trying to land Paul George is all it says.

Also, if not Indiana he wants to contend for a title. . . . so he wants the lakers?  Magic is just a name.  Highly unlikely they're contenders by next summer.

I don't feel Bird will do that to PG...I mean trade him to a team where he won't even sniff the playoffs...if Larry trades George the least he could is give him to a playoff bound team or to a contender...wink..wink the Celtics.

Unfortunately for Danny, he may have to cough up his treasure chest of assets for George.

Derozan was also a lock to go to LA until he didnt.

Every single FA is rumored to go to LA and this year they signed Luol Deng and Timofey Mozgov.
