Coming off a shoulder injury rehab, Kelly Olynyk has turned around his down season into a gold mine that would make Matthew McConaughey jealous.  Kelly can thank the last 5 games because averaging 16ppg 7rpg on 64.6% FG and 55% 3FG has just made every front office executive, trying to run a pace&space offense, smack their lips like a hungry lion.  At 7 feet, Kelly has a very unusual skill set; few players have these talents and a lot of them are referred to as Unicorns.  Although Olynyk is not a true unicorn like Porzingis or Towns, this past string of games has just made him Ryan Anderson money.

GMs don't increase or decrease an offer to a player based on a few games so KO hasn't done anything to effect how much money he will make in his ne t contract based solely on the last few games. He will get paid based on his four years of work and how much GMs think his game could progress over the length of his next contract.

Yes, now tell that to Orlando and Biyombo

He has had stretches like this every year. Can he keep it up for half a season and into the playoffs?

That's how he'll make money. Everyone knows he can be really good for 2 weeks. He needs to prove he is consistent

You're really going to hate it when the Celtics announce a new deal with him on July 10th.

5 games? So GMs decide contracts for free agents based on their best 5 game stretches during the season? Out of an 82 games season?

Especially with the $18M/year salary that's gonna go with it.

yeah right
have you been tracking some of the contract handed out lately, like byombo, mozgov, noah??
kelly is playing superb basketball right now, he is like one of the leading 7 ft at 3pt's made. i really hope we keep him, but 15 mil per year would be a max.
what doesn't kill you makes you stronger

I have never seen Kelly as a first string player.  A 7 footer who can shoot, play smart defense, and can create offense with playmaking is extremely useful.  For years, Bonner was useful for the Spurs.  I see Kelly as a better version.  There is nothing wrong with that.

The issue is the salary he will get. There will be at least one team that gives him big bucks.

I really wish Brad Stevens would just stick KO in the starting lineup in place of Amir and play him 30 minutes a night. He's clearly a better and more effective player in almost every way. His finishing skills at the basket are vastly improved over previous years and the big thing is that he's never played with more confidence. I haven't yelled "Kelly, shoot the [dang] ball!" at my TV screen in weeks.

He's going to end up with a bigger contract than Evan Turner, without question
