The only one that matters to the Bulls is the Celtics, whom many league executives believe at least will re-kindle talks from last June regarding Jimmy Butler to see his cost. Obviously, with Butler's ascension to a likely All-NBA selection as one of the game's top-15 players, that price will be extremely high, higher than last June.

As of now, league sources insist the Celtics won't part with this June's first-round pick they own from the Nets, which could be the No. 1 overall selection in a strong draft. The Celtics also own the Nets' 2018 first-round pick.

Its funny because his price was overkill last June.

He was an over pay for what Chicago wanted last June, now its overpay x2. He IS worth 18 BKN pick + more but I wouldn't give up our #1 chip in this years draft.

Once we get past May 16th and Chi is a huge cluster.....we'll see how much he's worth then.

Why do the Bulls want so much for Jimmy Butler??? Remember when Kevin love was being shopped on the Timberwolves two years ago. The Timberwolves traded him while he was averaging 26 13 and 4.4 assists(better stats than butler) for the first overall pick Andrew Wiggins. Fast forward 2 years later and the Bulls most likely want both Brooklyn picks, Jaylen brown, Avery Bradley or Marcus Smart, and Terry Rozier...Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.

Bradley + ´18 Brk pick.

I love Jimmy and his work ethic, but he´s just not that much better than Avery.

I think Bradley, Zeller, 2018 BK pick and one of Jackson/Yabusele/Young is enough.  I am a huge AB fan but you can let him go only if you get Butler back without giving up Crowder/Brown/Smart.

Good news, as it seems more likely we are not using Nets 17 and other assets to get him.

We don't need Butler.
Draft Fultz or Jackson and sign a free agent big this summer.

If you've got a franchise player and you're talking trades with the Celts, I think you ask for Smart, Crowder/Bradley, Brown, and both Nets picks, as a starting point.  You don't agree to do a trade unless you get three of those pieces, with the 2017 Nets pick as a deal-breaker.

If you're the Celts ... do you risk trading that 2017 pick?  I don't think you can.  Even adding Jimmy Butler might not put this team over the top of Cleveland, let alone Golden State.

But getting a top two pick in this draft might set the team up with a blueprint for being competitive and fun to watch for the next decade plus.  Very few teams get the chance to have a win-now core featuring multiple All-Star talents and also put together a core for the future by picking in the top 10 in 4 out of 5 drafts.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

C's should hold on to the picks through the end of the season, see how the lottery unfolds, and go from there.

Personally, I'd see how FA goes and then see what the options are. If the C's can get an impact player via FA, they will have a lot of ammo/surplus to trade for another impact player. Having a lot of good depth is a nice problem to have.

At Blog A Bull, they say they will give up Butler + Lopez FOR BOTH BKN Picks + Brown.

Some say that's absurd and that they'll only give up Butler in that deal.  ::)

Reports saying similar things.

I remember reading somewhere it's probably:
- 2017 BKN Pick + Zeller + Smart/Bradley/Crowder/Brown/2018BKNPICK (CHOOSE 3)

So yeah, end this rumor. It's not happening at least before February 23.

Try again this summer OR see if PG13 *could* actually be available.
