Thomas is obviously the best player, but this is really a leadership and captain of the ship question.

Have to go with Horford as far as big game experience. Jae and Smart are our bulldogs to protect IT.team plays through Horford a lot on offense too, though smart is starting to become a playmaker as well.

General Cobra. Not even close.

Horford is the best soldier you can have on the team. Because he does his job to top quality; and nothing more.

Crowder is good has plenty of proof that he's a bit emotionally unstable. Can't have him leading by example.

Its a split between Crowder and Smart for me. But AB has stepped up when asked to so he sure gets some consideration of a potential Alpha type.

TP Coffee, for stating your opinion strongly.

I wanted Randle than smart that year. After being disappointed, I quickly convinced myself we needed a new spiritual leader of the team with Rondo on his way out.

And I did see that from Smart in college, an emotional stud. He's done a fantastic job of keeping him Red hot fire in check.

Big Ups to Smart for that. TP Smart.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Definitely Smart.

We have our lead by example stars like Horford and AB.

Then we have our fit the system perfectly players like KO, Crowder, and even Amir/JJ.

But Smart is a vocal leader, an emotional leader, and the type to put the team on his back - mostly defensively, but he sure kills it late in close games. In only his third year, Smart exudes captain - only IT and better shooting stand in his way.

On another note, we have a REALLY likable team!

Agree with the Smart choice.  And I'm so happy that we have such a likeable team like jambr380 just mentioned.  I'm not anxious to trade too many of these guys.

I agree that it's Smart, but it's hard to judge the level of respect he gets from his teammates - he's only 22.  I suspect Horford gets the wise "older" guy respect. Inevitably, Smart is the leader.

Agreed. TP Jambr and Moiso. Jambr, does that stand for something or is it just random.

IT is the only Alpha, in terms of stepping up and taking over. Smart has the potential to be a great leader, but he's not a guy that I see carrying the team on his back.

It's not a question of carrying the team your back. That's obviously ITs territory.

It's who is the leader of the team everyday all day and I do believe that's Smart.

No NG. It's not hard to judge. Smarts the guy you would want on your side in a street fight, in overtime of a Finals game.

He's the vocal leader on the team not Horford. All the behind the scenes videos shows it is indeed Smart.

This poll reflects that truth. 93.8% that is awesome nice job guys.

Not sure how you defined "leader" I continuously adopted that the leader will always carry the team.
