Previous can'ts proven wrong:
Bradley can't shoot consistently.
Bradley can't be anything more than a spotup shooter and defender.
Thomas can't be starting point guard in the NBA.
Thomas can't be an All-star.
Crowder can't be more than a bench role player.
Crowder can't be a consistent shooter.
Boston can't attract a big name free agent.
Ainge can't rebuild without tanking.
We can't have a top offensive team without a "star."
We can't make the playoffs in 2015.
We can't get homecourt in 2016 playoffs (in fairness, we were tied for the 3rd seed and lost the tiebreaker).

Current can'ts being proven wrong:
Brown can't be an impact player because his advanced stats were bad in college.
Rozier can't be a reliable shooter from the outside.
Smart can't be a primary ball-handler or playmaker.
Boston can't have an MVP candidate.
Thomas can't average 30 points per game efficiently.
Olynyk can't consistently impact the game.
Boston can't get marquee wins in the 16-17 season.
Boston can't get homecourt in the 2017 playoffs.

Am I starting to see a trend?
Boston can't win the one seed in the East.
Boston can't beat Toronto, Wizards, or the Cavs in a 7 game series.
Boston can't compete with the Spurs or Warriors.

This team is trending up. Where others continue to see a ceiling, the Celtics continue to raise the ceiling. I recognize the questions about playoff experience and iso playmakers, but I've seen enough of these "can'ts" proven wrong. I'm starting to believe.

If I see us start to plateau, I'll call it out, but Smart, Bradley, Thomas, Crowder, Olynyk, Rozier, and Horford have all taken steps forward this season.

CBS is a wizard. Ainge is a wizard. This team is filled with over-achievers who work hard, have a chip on their shoulder, and keep improving. Under a different coach and GM, and with players who have a different temperaments, I see a ceiling for this team as a top 3 seed who competes in the playoffs but can't get over the hump. But since every ceiling has been shattered so far, I'm starting to believe.

Any player we get should have the same type of chip on his shoulder.

That's why I don't want Drummond, or Whiteside, or Favors, or Vucevic. They don't seem like they have that.

That's why I do like Cody Zeller, or Noel, or Nance Jr., or Solomon Hill, or Butler.

I'd probably call Coach K and determine if Okafor might respond to these past two years of mistreatment in Philly with a chip on his shoulder. He's a dinosaur, but it's dangerous to tell a guy with a chip on his should that he can't.

Okafor will be out of the league in two to three years, but maybe he will have a nice career overseas.
