No to Melo, he just doesn't fit here. He's such a polarizing player. That's all acquiring Mello will do is make this years playoff a bit more interesting, if that. Long term it's not beneficial.

I'm intrigued with Ibaka coming, still a defensive force, able to stretch the floor, and score. (I wish I knew how old he really is.) Immediately we would have more scoring on the floor, better interior D, better rebounding and toughness.

No way Horford comes off the bench. You'd have Crowder coming off, start Brown at the two, and have Smart and Crowder smothering the second unit. On D, Brown makes up for IT, and Ibaka makes up for Melo, and then you would have Smart and Crowder smothering the opposing teams second unit putting all the pressure of the starting unit to score. And you can have Green with Smart and Crowder for some scoring punch.

But I also rather just go for Ibaka and beef up the D.

Melo + a BIG (rebounding 4 or 5) added to this team, + BKN picks?

I doubt Melo costs any BKN picks or Brown due to his already established low trade value out there.
