Fabricio’s mother told the police that the player arrived home on Friday and went to bed. This Saturday, when she went to call her son, she found out he was unconscious and called an ambulance, which verified the player’s death. 15 mins ago – via Globo Esporte

RIP Fab.  Horrible news.

I 'm Brazilian and I've never heard of any heart condition that would be slowing him down. He was playing for Brasilia, in the capital city of the country, one of the most traditional teams in South America.

If in fact Melo did pass away from a genetic heart problem, it is getting ridiculous how many Celtics & former Celtics have suffered from this problem and I am shocked that through all types of professional testings no one was able to pick it up.

Watching him play when he was in College he had all the physical gifts in the world to be a top NBA player just didn't seem to have the BBall I.Q similar to JaVale McGee.
