he is shooting 87% from foul line and i have seen him hit a couple mid range-
recently i have seen some nice post moves, flip hooks and drives to basket
somebody call mchale,extend his range
he moves to a new team ,stronger league and slides right in and doesn't look lost on defense

Surprise ? The guy looked fundamentally incredible at 19, 20 yrs of age. Not sure he'll surprise anyone. It's no wonder scouts & gm's alike are rumored to be after this guy. He's got a chance to be a legit Center in this league where Centers are hard to come by.

Not to mention he can learn to shoot the 3s like Marc Gasol did during the summer.
His good FT% might indicates he can be a decent 3pts shooter.
We got so many picks, it's about right that one of them turn out to be better that it was supposed to be.

Edit : makes me think that what if in 2 to 3 years time Brown and Zizic become what we are exactly missing in this team. We might be a contender without making any moves. That would be awesome.

rollie's point is that most everyone on this blog, and fans in general, question whether he has any outside game whatsoever.  He is pointing out that one is developing, and that his excellent free throw shooting projects that he can become a good outside shooter with time.

Will be interesting to see if he develops a three point shot before he joins the squad this summer.

How does he compare to centers in the upcoming draft?  Is he better?  Not asking where he would be picked b/c I know there are lots of guards in this draft.

He doesn't need a 3 point shot. With a post and mid range game he will be just what we need. pair him with Horford, KO or JJ and there is your 3 point shooting.  Let him stay down low to get the offensive rebound.

Very wishful thinking. I hope you are right though.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

Hey...stranger things have happened...I mean who would have thought that a 5'9" Mr. Irrelevant would be competing for the 2016-17 NBA MVP.

I agree...that would be an excellent chain of events.

TP to Rollie and Footey.

His FT% was .724 last year. Not bad. Overall it's .782 this year. That's darn good and it shows that he can stroke it from about 15 feet. His shooting percentage is again above 65%. When you take those two things combined it suggests he has a sound, reliable stroke.

If he had already demonstrated a 3 point game he might have been a top 8 pick this year.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

As some of you have suggested, we don't need him shooting 3s (which may be an added value, anyway). We need an enforcer setting picks and waiting just in the middle of the paint to get any rebound around him.

Depending on his performance next year and our summer moves, we may change our mind about selecting a big man with the 2018 Nets' pick.

Žižić will do well in the NBA, he will surprise many.
Please hold the 3pt shot expectations for now.
His quality is that he knows what he does well and right now thats not it.
If he can defend, rebound and finish in traffic we will be satisfied.
I think he can do it.

Lower than Markkanen, about on the level of Robert Williams? (Who knows where Giles will go.)

I wish I could give everyone who said he doesnt need to shoot 3's about 50 tommy points. My goodness. 3s have become a drug that people just cant resist to the point where Blake Griffin wouldnt fit in cus people think he needs to shoot 3s.

He might not need to shoot 3's but the ability to shoot is an unequivocal plus. If he can't shoot, that limits his value on the court. That's been true forever, and with the way NBA defense works now, it's more important than its ever been.
