Started Paul Pierce and let him back in the game for the last possession.

It was a very classy move by Doc. Great to see The Captain start and close his last game in the Garden
I'm bitter.

Yeah. That classy move soothes any sore feelings I may or may not have harbored that started when he left the way he did.

Doc, you are welcome in Boston.
My biases, in order of fervor:
Pro:
Smart, Brown, Hayward, Tatum, Kemba, Grant Williams, Sleepy Williams, Edwards!

Doc understands basketball history. He understands how important someone like Paul is to the city of Boston. He's also a good man with a big heart.

Why are we giving Doc credit for something that every single coach in the NBA would do?
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

I dont think he was a good Xs and Os coach, but he is a great emotional coach. His guys love him and he loves his guys. His players always played for him and he always coached with passion. You dont see much of the behind the scenes stuff, but based on how much his guys love him, I have to imagine he does right by his players all the time. Giving Paul the start and then the last shot tonight was one of the few times we are able to see him doing something for his players.

I love Doc Rivers.  Super classy move by Doc to play Pierce today.  He hurt his team by playing an inferior player for Pierce and Celtics' fans.  He also didn't overreact and play Pierce for 30 minutes only for Pierce to embarrass himself.  Doc haters should take the day off.  Today is not your day.

Give credit to the players first, they went to Doc and asked him to do it.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

After his 1st return to BOS.

Can't say he didn't (and still does) have an affinity for BOS.
