i just never seen or remember ainge ever trading for a rental....he wants players he can keep.

He traded for a rental of Antoine Walker that managed to sell playoff tickets one year.

yeah thats right...i liked walker...but i don't think it will happen again.

Really?  I mean, if a rental wins you a playoff series and doesn't screw up any big plans.....

He did manage to use Walker in a sign and trade in a massive multi-team deal with the Heat and Pistons and Lakers I think that summer too, so it was not a total waste.

The thing is allegedly the Magic want to save face from the trade, which means real assets. Good picks or good prospects. Don't think it'll happen.

They can want that, and I applaud the sentiment. Still can't imagine anyone gives up more than a heavily protected 1st for him. I'm not in to the "how old is Serge" conversations, but I can say that trading for a rental has it's own set of rules. They traded for Ibaka with a full year left on his deal. We'd be getting him for 4 months tops. They shouldn't expect a lottery pick and a young guy for Ibaka at this point. I'd do Rozier and an expiring. They might find someone else to take a flier on him but he's not a guy I bid for at this point.
