IT is averaging 29.4 PPG (#2 best scorer in the LEAGUE). Big reason this team is 30-18.
But yeah lets trade him instead of trying to build with him. This looks like a lateral move imo (like Love-for-Melo did last week).
There's literally ZERO chance either side agrees to this.
IT is not someone I think a championship can be built around. he's a dynamic scorer but he's constantly picked on in the playoffs by opposing PGs to the point where he becomes practically ineffective. if he was the second or better yet, third banana on the team, he'd be fine as the scoring machine that he is. it's not his fault that he can't offer much in the way of D. he certainly makes the effort, but that's what makes the outcome that much more disappointing. That being said, the same issue does not apply to Butler so that's why I'd do the deal.
I don't see IT being traded so we'll see if this same scenario plays out for the third year in a row in the playoffs. if it does, I think the franchise has to re-evaluate how they structure this team going forward including deciding if IT is someone they want to invest a max deal in when his current deal is up.
