How are we keeping our picks? Thomas is harder to build around than most (top) players in the league and I don't care that people will disagree and say I'm a hater. I look at this as if I was Chicago w/ Butler, I wouldn't do it unless I was forced to.

My opinion on this doesn't have anything to do with how much I like IT4.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

IT is averaging 29.4 PPG (#2 best scorer in the LEAGUE). Big reason this team is 30-18.

But yeah lets trade him instead of trying to build with him. This looks like a lateral move imo (like Love-for-Melo did last week).

There's literally ZERO chance either side agrees to this.
IT is not someone I think a championship can be built around.  he's a dynamic scorer but he's constantly picked on in the playoffs by opposing PGs to the point where he becomes practically ineffective.  if he was the second or better yet, third banana on the team, he'd be fine as the scoring machine that he is.  it's not his fault that he can't offer much in the way of D.  he certainly makes the effort, but that's what makes the outcome that much more disappointing.  That being said, the same issue does not apply to Butler so that's why I'd do the deal.

I don't see IT being traded so we'll see if this same scenario plays out for the third year in a row in the playoffs.  if it does, I think the franchise has to re-evaluate how they structure this team going forward including deciding if IT is someone they want to invest a max deal in when his current deal is up.

Good post .....I love the little IT too....But you re right , he is not a player to build around ....like LeBron ......would any team pay him a max contract ?   Everybody wants him ,  any team would love to,have him off the bench .   He is a problem to build a team around no doubt.

When I say "build with him", I didn't mean IT would be our franchise super star and a team to build AROUND...

He could definitely be a third, or even second banana (on the offensive side) in a championship team.

I believe you are basically correct .  I feel this is most likely the majority consensus of other teams looking in.

I would trade IT for Bulter .   Bulls won't tho  ;D

IT is better than Butler. Why would Celtics even do this trade.

IT is a much better player than he has ever been so what he has done in past playoffs is kind of irrelevant.  You can definitely build a championship offense with him as the top banana.  Of course you need other great players to win a championship, even Lebron does.  But if Isaiah gets a nice secondary scorer/creator and a couple of bigs that are good defensively, I think you can absolutely have a championship team built around IT.  And he's still only 27.  I know guys like IT decline faster than normal but it's not like he's already 29 or 30.

What the heck is this?
IT is the face of this franchise, market wise and fan wise. Everybody got his shirt, he just made green nike shoes IT4. He embrace the culture and want to win title here. He's not a diva.

WHY THE HECK AINGE WOULD EVEN THINK ABOUT THE WORD TRADE IN THE SAME SENTENCE AS ISAIAH THOMAS ???

I'm clueless, you guys really think it's morally and ethically ok to get rid of such player like nothing happen? And after that you want to bring FAs and keep your players when their contract is up? Dream on! Insanity.
