You have to figure that the package will consist of:

Smart or Rozer
I would prefer to keep Smart. The Bulls had interest in Rozier before the draft and were rumored to draft him if he fell to them.

Crowder or Bradley
I would prefer to keep Crowder. His ultra team friendly deal still has 3 1/2 seasons left on it.

Brown or Nets 2017 pick
This is a really tough choice, as I do love the promise Brown has shown, but also recognize the value of the potential #1 overall pick.

Zeller
Salary filler.

Would be tough to say good bye to two players we love but would certainly be worth thinking about.

I'm listening to Zach Lowe's latest podcast, with Nick Friedell (from ESPN Chicago) and they're talking about Chicago.

So far, all within the first 15 minutes of the show they've talked about how Jimmy was yelling at teammates during the game (Cristiano Felicio), Lowe said it was comparable to Crowder/Wall confrontation, only it was between two teammates.

Said there's no doubt Chicago believes in Jimmy the basketball player, but they don't believe in Jimmy the locker room guy.

There's a split in the Bulls front office on if they want to build around Jimmy or not.

Friedell pictures Chicago GM calling Danny everyday asking about Brooklyn '17 for Jimmy.  He's never been more convinced that they'd move Jimmy today if they got the right pieces.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

C'mon, Danny. Hopefully you can convince them that they need us more than we need them, esp with Melo available.

AB+Rozier+Zeller+Brooklyn '17 plus our '18. That's a haul for them.

And we still get to keep our core (with Butler replacing AB) and BK '18 and JB.

Later in the show though, Zach Lowe said he thinks Jimmy is probably the 9th best player in the league right now, so he doesn't think Chicago will trade him.  It was Nick Friedell who was saying he thinks the Bulls want to trade Jimmy.

I see zero chance of acquiring Butler without the BKN 17.

Brown isn't going to move the needle for them.

I think a solid realistic haul for Butler is this:

Bulls receive:
G Avery Bradley
F Jaylen Brown
C Tyler Zeller
Memphis 1st

Celtics receive:
G/F Jimmy Butler

PG: IT, Rozier
SG: Butler, Smart
SF: Crowder, Green
PF: Jerebko, Olynyk
C: Horford, Johnson

I think that's a trade that gives the bulls a ton of young talent, role players, cap relief, and pick. We keep a majority of our core and also keep our depth into the bench. We could probably bring in a veteran off of waivers that could strengthen our frontcourt

I don't want to trade the BKN 17 pick. If I'm not tracking that pick, determining who is behind BKN by how many games and trying to figure out the chance that one of those teams is going to pass Brooklyn, I don't know what I'd do all day.

that is neither solid nor realistic
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Bigs - Shaquille O'Neal, Victor Wembanyama
Wings -  Lebron James
Guards - Luka Doncic

It's time to admit you were wrong about Brown and stop beating that drum.

That's why you're not GM Bo.

If they can trade the 2018 pick and NOT Smart , then I'm probably for a trade.

Giving up Jalen would hurt .

But seems given Butlers s position as gun slinger , Crowder or AB or Brown will have to go.

Smart is not a shooter , he needs to stay and protect IT from the wolves

Right now, I'd rather Melo than Butler.

Well, what's nice is that Boston's actually well set-up to get both (assuming Chicago decides to move Butler at some point). Since Melo isn't going to cost premium assets you should be able to save them for Butler, and Butler being on an old-CBA first-tier max contract means you can move Amir/Zeller as salary filler in a Melo deal and still have enough money sitting around to build a Butler deal around the current swingmen (obviously you need to include a minimum of one Brooklyn pick as well). If you're going to try to be the team that knocks off Cleveland in the East (and if you're flipping Brooklyn pick/picks for Butler, that's what you're doing), then go for both.

Not. Happening.

Get back to me when Brown develops a handle, a consistent shot and consistent defensive effort.

I guess the third pick doesn't bring what it used to.

If Ainge trades for that ball-stopping, defenseless, corpse of a player, he should be summarily fired.

He is SO overrated here.

I'm sorry Brown isn't an all star this year. Whenever people talk about Brown, it's all projection. He's really raw as a player currently.
