Very nice game tonight. Has played well since inserted into the starting lineup. A terror in transition.  Very good around the basket.  Jump shot looks good. Enthusthiastic on the defensive end

Yes, he was made to play NBA defense. Great hands, footwork, and length; recovers quickly from mistakes.

Also worth noting: he played extended minutes with Crowder, which has been one of the big questions going forward - looks like they coexist beautifully.

Yeah they actually play very well together so far. They've shown very good chemistry. Crowder complements Brown well because he can space the floor.

I'm an advocate for bringing the duo of Bradley and Smart off the bench because that would be such a deadly bench duo. That in itself is a starting lineup and could torment teams with Gerald Green. We just need depth in the frontcourt. I think we should try to move Rozier and picks for Noel because he's a missing piece to make us a very good basketball team.

There was discussion of a Jaylen + Brooklyn pick for Jimmy butler trade in the offseason.

I would have been extremely upset if that happened.

Jaylen's improvement is extremely impressive for a kid that young.

how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck was chris bosh?

Bringing Bradley off the bench solves the problem of Boston having the smallest starting backcourt in the league, and pairing him with Smart allows him to take the opposing point guard on defense.

Yes, looks like he's earned a couple of starts.  Pretty unusual for a rookie on a playoff team, even if it's on top of an injury and a bad losing streak.

I was in favor of giving up the third pick for Butler; now I think that Jaylen can give you the same off-the-dribble game and stopper defense that Butler does (and maybe more...).

Yeah I like that. Esp if you start JJ alongside Horford to make up for Bradley's spacing.

Elfrid Payton certainly had his hands full trying to guard Jaylen.

Bradley always lights up bench units when he's back there too. It's been a while since Smart and Bradley played together I could see it becoming a great pairing if Bradley could just go back to lock down mode and and ball hawks passes off the guy Marcus is harassing.

Jaylen in the starting lineup could be nice for teams with big back courts like Toronto, Golden State and even Detroit. Derozan, Thompson and Kentavious Caldwell Pope(when he's on) are just not really bothered by Bradley even when he's tight in their airspace. Not saying that Jaylen can lock them down by any means but it could make it tougher for them to get to their spots if they've got someone as big as Jaylen they need to shake.

The kid has a lot of poise. Easily his best game last night. He should have had at minimum 4 more points as he missed 2 easy bunnies though. How does an athlete like that miss 2 layups? Over-excited?

See, size at a position is not bad.  Death to small ball, get us some big athletes!

This.

I for one am excited we can have somebody with some actual springs and can get to the rim at will in his rookie year. I love the willingness to bump bodies in the air.

Jaylen's 20+ game stretch of shooting nearly 90% from the line is maybe his most impressive improvement. With his ability to drive, draw contact and get shots off he will have a future if being at the line an awful lot. Shooting free throws at that percentage will make him a tremendously efficient scorer.

Agree on that and his ability to suspend in the air and get the "And 1" will a tremendous advantage. Just making easy layups too instead of only the spectacular should be his next improvement.
