Celtics should change the landscape of the game by reinstating the concept of the super sixth man. Elevate that position to the status of an alternative starter rather than just the first man off the bench.

Turn the NBA into a six man starting rotation rather than a 5 man starting crew with 7 bench players. In short give the sixth man equal status as a starter well much like it was when we had Walton.

Reason? We have the perfect man for that role, right here, right now. I will let you Einsteins figure out who on our current roster should be our sixth starter. Especially next year after we draft our PG of the future with the Brooklyn pick.

If Danny drafts a phenom point guard moving Isaiah to the bench, then the probability of I.T. leaving on his own will increase dramatically. He would feel disrespected. That player would have to show up like Larry Bird or Magic ready from day one and I doubt it happens.

The more likely scenario is the one PhoSita says. The new pg will need years to become NBA ready. Jaylen doesn't seem likely to force Jae to the bench anytime soon or at least not next year, so I doubt the next rookie phenom will do it in his first year.

I'm thinking Larry Sanders or someone similar for thinking outside the box. I like Noel, but he is under contract and will only be a restricted free agent. Zizac may or may not be our future center, but like with Jaylen and the future pg draft pick (if that's how it goes), young players are usually not ready for much more than bench roles, if that.

Avery Bradley and Amir Johnson have broken down at the wrong time.

Last night felt like when we traded Rondo and had Brandan Wright and Jameer Nelson. I think that's when I first learned that Brad Stevens likes to do basketball experiments during the regular season.

I'd trade/cut Zeller and Young and add Nader and Sanders. If Danny doesn't want Sanders, Noel or anyone who could potentially solve the center problem, then bring Zizic in right now.

If we are going to stagnate in mediocrity, we might as well start playing the younger guys more. I mean, maybe there is a right and wrong way for experimenting. Stop experimenting with James Young is probably what I'm trying to convey.

The blatant disregard for certain aspects of the game(bigmen) has made me wary of Stevens philosophies with the combination of Ainge's ineptitude at evaluating bigs, we already have a bad outlook in that area. If Cousins is what it will take and the iron is hot enough for us strike at Cleveland in 2018 (no way DMC gets acclimated enough for us to win a title this year, if trade goes down) then Danny should do what he does and trade. If Cousins is not on the roster by next season then it's time to think about the future beyond the current core.

When the opponent starts a big, ball dominant guard (like Harden, for instance), start JB as a guard and let him chase the big guard around.  He won't shut him down but at least he will make Harden work.

Make Harden cover either IT or JB.  If he is covering JB, post JB on the box and feed him the ball.  JB will pummel him inside. 

The only way we are going to win going forward given the lack of rim protection is to make the best players earn it.  JB is clearly our best athlete and He should spend 30+ minutes covering the other team's best 2, 3 or 4.

Outside the box is selling high on Thomas, getting picks for Horford, Bradley and Crowder, and trying to build around our 2017 savior.   Tanking doesn't make sense this year, though, because we only have swap rights with Brooklyn.  If you're going to blow it up, you'll have to wait until next year when we have both our pick and Brooklyn's.  So we're all going to have to unfortunately just suffer with this highly entertaining 50+ win Top 3 Eastern Conference team for the time being.

I like the idea of starting JB against Harden - that is thinking outside the box. It is interesting that someone thinks that IT would feel disrespected if he had to come off the bench. What if coming off the bench got him more minutes and more points? Would he still feel disrespected? Does a Pitcher feel disrespected in baseball because he is only called upon to close games? Does a pitcher feel disrespected because he only starts once in five games? Did Walton feel disrespected because he came off the bench for Parish?

Imagine IT coming off the bench, it will cause disruption in what the other team tries to do, and that is exactly where you want your opponent.

I like the idea of trading IT. His value should be extremely high and Marcus could get an extended look as the starting PG before we decide what to do on draft night.

If I was GM,  I would be more than open to trading Thomas and Horford. I'd keep Crowder and Bradley though if the other two were dealt. They're both really young still. We can also extend Avery.

I would trade Thomas for Parker and hopefully a future first. Horford would be tougher to deal. I think he would fit in Cleveland perfectly. Too bad they only have Love. Maybe Miami's pick this year and Winslow for Horford? Miami would probably say not to that. I love trading Horford to the Sixers though
