Why is Zeller sitting out ?

I know they say he is sick---but it's been over a week..whereas, Marcus and Avery only missed one game or practice.

Zeller has been on the bench in street clothes the past 3 games or so...so he's NOT sick...No injuries reported ( listed as "sick" for tonight's game-although he was on the bench )...Could it be he's set to be traded this weekend--?

They said sinus infection.  That's not contagious, so he could be on the bench.  At the same time, that's a really bad sinus infection -- and I say this as someone who's had surgery on his sinuses.  So I'm not convinced either (especially if he traveled to Toronto -- if it's that bad an infection, there's no air travel.)

Could be a precautionary trade move. He is salary matching all the way, and you don't want to risk losing out on a deal because Zeller gets hammered up right before the deadline. I have serious doubts that there is something already in the works.

I prefer him sitting out and I liked the little action that Mickey got last night -especially the nice block.

I do find the timing odd but at the same time he wasn't playing much anyways so he could at least suit up if healthy.  I believe he is sick.

IDK Sinus Cold/Infections can last awhile. Im no doctor but I am a middle school teacher, who seems to get one every other month(currently have one) and they take on avg 10 days for me to completely get over them lol

So if its a sinus thing it could last all week but I would still think he could play part of the time, like only a 2-3 days is really bad then rest of time the sinus is more annoying than anything.


So......maybe a trade soon!

Seems like the most likely reason. They have another 3 days before he gets traded for Bogut.

Why not just sit him out, though?  He already has a few DNP - CDs, so why fake an illness instead of just sitting him out?  That doesn't make sense

I had a bad sinus infection several years ago and the thing that I remember are the debilitating headaches. I was completely non functioning.

I think that we should give Zeller the benefit of the doubt on this one.

He's probably sick of being benched by Stevens...Heck, with Thomas, the Celtics don't need any help from any other player...I hope Zeller gets traded to a team that will give him a chance to play a few minutes a game...
