just for fun, i looked up smart's shooting in the last 9 games and this one (yes, clear cherry picking) to see if recently he has slowly begun to shoot better. here is what i found:

3 pointers = 15 of 31, 41.6% (which includes the 0-5 tonight)
2 pointers = 20 of 49, 40.8%
FT = 300 of 33, 90.1%

i am sure i missed a number here or there since i am traveling and working off my ipad. so feel free to correct me.

but if these number are within barking distance of reality, then maybe maybe maybe smart is slowly starting to improve his shooting.

I think he has to restrict himself (for now) to corner threes, especially early in the shot clock.

I was a Smart sceptic, but he has grown on me like a tumor.

appreicate those stats, I hope that is sustainable!

Here's video of the altercation. I'm guessing Jae will get a technical and maybe a fine, but Wall looks to throw two slaps/punches at Jae. He'll be suspended, especially after already having issues earlier in the year with Smart.

EDIT: Lol and I love Smart and Rozier coming to back-up Jae ready to throw down lol I don't think you'd want to mess with Smart or Jae.

Wall does have the history of having a very short fuse

remember his rookie year where he threw an elbow at Ilgauskus when he faced the Heat in LeBron's first year
I think he also did something similar earlier this season? forgot which game

He got ejected in consecutive games this year -- the second one was vs. us when he tackled Smart in the backcourt for no apparent reason while up by like 30.

Has to get to the rim more and use his size to finish. His FG% will naturally increase if he continues to do that and shoot the right 3 ball on occasion. Still too many poor shooting decisions and too much outside stuff for a guard his size.

I appreciate the improvement though.
yep, good points and tp to you for them. smart still takes really questionable shots. but what should bear watching is the overall trend in his percentages. the last few games (and 10 games is a REALLY sss) he has improved. in fact his FT% is astonishing.

is this a trend or a fluck. we will just have to cross our fingers and hope for the best on this.

and corrections to a pair of typos in my original post.

three point shots are 15 of 36, the % is correct though.

and smart only made 30 of 33 FT, not 300.  ;D ha, ha. that would be amazing wouldnt it?

All this talk about defense makes me reminisce about KG (who i don't nearly idolize like most Cs fans)... Remember his crazy marshaling, covering two spots, lightning switches. He would disrupt a spot while recovering. Good times those teams, Ray had good hands

that can really happen if we secure top 4 seed, and they in the bottom 4, but man would that series be crazy

As a DC resident, I'm rooting for it.  A nice 2-7 matchup.

Highlights worth watching again.

Just insane.. this new thing with sensing a three that's short and almost reading the direction of the ricochet and getting the "putback" wild shot is completely mental. It's like he practiced it just last week. Good to read the comments down there too.

Just watched these, didn't get to see the game.  Worth noting for the "small ball" haters, that the lineup down the stretch when we pulled away was IT, Smart, Rozier and Horford, first with KO and later with Crowder.  Nice to see Rozier get some key minutes after spending a number of games on the bench.
