You can't back down a player for more than 5 seconds. As soon as I saw the replay, I wondered about this. He got the ball at about 8 seconds and immediately starting backing Lance Thomas down.

This rule was instituted to disallow bigger players from simply committing mini-charges for more than 5 seconds.

Great shot by a great young player, but the Knicks should have won.

Never liked that Mark Jackson rule.

They need to make it longer than 5 seconds if they are going to keep it.
