Didn't see this anywhere else.

Nothing serious - stomach bug for Smart and sinus issues for Zeller. Brad said he hopes to have them back ASAP, but their status for Utah is unclear.

Fortunately, I think Hill for Utah will be out too with concussion symptoms.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Yeah, both infections have been going around in the Boston area lately. Its that time of the year. I love IT's comment on it:

"I only fist bump anyway. I don't shake nobody's hand," he said. "When I go through doors, I go through doors [with jersey over his hand]. And I don't get sick. So I'm good. I don't know the last time I got sick."

That should be my policy at work during this time of year, fist bumps, no handshakes :)

Yeah I've been wondering that too for a few years. You would think it would be mandatory for them, even for all NBA players, but maybe not.

TP to the OP for being clear.

I was a little more cryptic:

Players always touching hands , poking fingers in each other's faces , sweating on each other . It's a wonder they aren't sick more....they all touch the ball then wiping their faces.

Except Kelly .

Who avoids contact and the ball ...And should remain perfectly healthy and USELESS .

Ha! Yeah, I definitely missed this post. I didn't figure it'd be in the "around the league" section; I only looked in the Celtics-specific sections. I was kind of surprised nobody else had posted about it yet, so this makes sense. TP for beating me to it!

A lot of viral infections are not influenza.  It's very important to get flu shots, but it doesn't mean you aren't going to get sick, especially if you go through airports, hotel rooms, and locker rooms for six months during the height of cold/flu season, as NBA players do.

FYI: There are nasty bugs going around. I've been sick since before Christmas. Even though the symptoms don't feel bad, minor congestion and sore throat. Fatigue is the worst of it. Most days I sleep a minimum of 12 hours a day. Hopefully, the Celtic players will recover a lot faster.

Good idea by Isaiah not to shake hands, etc. That's likely how I got my cold.

I opened this hoping to read that Smart (McLean) kicked Zeller's (Brigham & Women's) ass.  One can dream...
