Henson is signed thru 2020 for an average of about $11 million per.  Monroe is making 17.1 this year and due to make about 17.9 million next year.

Henson has not materialized for them and Monroe is being paid an average of around 17.5 to come off the bench.

What youu list as needs for Milwaukee to do the trade is exactly why the Celtics DON'T do the trade. Its called cap flexibility. By trading for two players that don't make the Celtics contenders, the Celtics lose their ability to sign a difference making star player.

Clearly, we would have to fill a couple of roster spots, but we can do that by bringing over one of our picks playing overseas or by looking at the NBADL.

Why would Milwaukee do this?

They are a .500 team.  The Greek Freak's $20 million+ a year extension kicks in next year.  Monroe is getting $17 mil to come off the bench and has a player option next season.  Henson is signed for 3 more years after this.  It gives the Bucks some salary cap options this offseason to get another star to play with the Freak and Jabari Parker and Zeller, Jerebko and KO would give them better spacing.

They are a .500 team right now, paying Monroe $17 mil for 20 minutes, 9.8 pts and 6.6 rebs and Henson 10+ mil for the next three years for 20 minutes, 7.1 pts and 5.4 rebs.  And neither of them have ANY range to space the floor.

Amir is almost certainly a better defender than Monroe and he, Jerebko and KO can shoot the three.  Even Zeller has more of a jump shot than either Monroe or Henson.  More importantly, it opens up salary cap space possibilities that the Bucks do not currently have.

I think you don't do the trade because there are real questions about Monroe's effectiveness.  In theory, Boston would be fixing a lot of their rebounding issues and getting a big with some athleticism.  The Bucks would be getting better spacing, salary cap relief and more trade options.  Team's would be more interested in smaller expiring deals.

Makes sense for the Bucks if they want cap relief. For the Celtics, I'd rather do a Noel deal.

I think Monroe and Horford would fit miserably together.

No idea why you'd think that...I struggle to see a better fit.

Horford is mobile,  defensively versatile   protects the rim, and is predominantly a perimeter player on offense.

Monroe has size and is one of the better rebounders and post scorers is the NBA, and gets to the line.   

Both are excellent passers and good locker room guys.

Perfect fit.

Im going to call it now - bringing in Monroe would make us a contender.

He fills two or three of the biggest voids we have,  and Horford makes up for every one of his weaknesses.

He and Horford would be one of the top front courts in the NBA, and we're already a top 3 team in the east.

In actuality,  Amir's defensive RPM is 1.07 this year and Monroe's DRPM is 1.44!!!!!

I find Monroe to be a net negative on the court that doesn't make his team better. He was a horrid fit next to Drummond who should have negated Monroe's rather severe lack of defense. But even Drummond couldn't do that. Then Monroe went to Milwaukee and was so good he was relagated to the bench while Milwauke now relies on their youth to win games.

I personally think Monroe would be a horrible fit in this season with his post game, poor passing and inability to play an outside in game. And that doesnt take into effect his poor defense.
