This is an option on January 15th.

Thoughts??

Clearly, we would have to fill a couple of roster spots, but we can do that by bringing over one of our picks playing overseas or by looking at the NBADL.

BTW, Amir makes 12, Zeller makes 8, Jerebko makes 5, and Oly make about 3.  Henson is making 12.27 and Monroe 17.15.

Bring over Yab and Zizic and I'd be all on board. Completely overhauls our weak front court and turns us into a really good rebounding team. Also allows Al to play PF and lets us develop our overseas guys in practice and with the red claws. TP for a realistic and IMO very good trade proposal

They are a .500 team.  The Greek Freak's $20 million+ a year extension kicks in next year.  Monroe is getting $17 mil to come off the bench and has a player option next season.  Henson is signed for 3 more years after this.  It gives the Bucks some salary cap options this offseason to get another star to play with the Freak and Jabari Parker and Zeller, Jerebko and KO would give them better spacing.

Trading Monroe and Henson for those 3 makes them a substantially worse team.

I think Monroe and Horford would fit miserably together.

Not to mention the Bucks would have to cut a couple of guaranteed contracts just to make this trade go through.

They could cut Novak and Terry and really NEVER miss them!!!  Just signed thru this year, so they would have to eat around $1 million.

I think Bucks would take the deal. C's may not want to as they probably don't want to tie up cap space in role players. C's need a star.

Don't see Milwaukee being interested in that at all. They're not exactly lacking in bigs.

not seeing the reasoning for Milwaukee at all in terms of talent or the need to unload 2 of the incoming players immediately to fit their roster

It is called a move for cap flexibility going forward for them!!!

Henson is signed thru 2020 for an average of about $11 million per.  Monroe is making 17.1 this year and due to make about 17.9 million next year.

Henson has not materialized for them and Monroe is being paid an average of around 17.5 to come off the bench.

They would be unloading two of their own players.  Jason Terry has a PER of 6.5 this year.  Remember that the average PER for an average NBA player is 15.00.  Steve Novak has played less than 24 TOTAL minutes this year and has a PER of 1.50.

I think Monroe is more valuable than to be unceremoniously dumped for salary cap purposes. The Bucks are supposedly looking for a combo guard and I think they can use Monroe and/or Henson in a package to get such a guy.
