No doubt the Celtics need an infusion of size and rebounding. I'm on the fence as to which available center is the right choice.
Bogut is 32, he injured often, but he does have experience, solid defensive, rebounding ability and a ring. He would fill the hole for this year and maybe next. He would be satisfied playing 20 minutes a game too, allowing us to go small like our brain trust likes.
Noel is 22, also injured often, but he's a young man, he could overcome these injuries and go on to play many injury free years. Noel to me needs a home, where he can grow, and develop without two other young centers looking over his shoulder. He has a lot of upside remaining, and I think he'd be happy playing 20-22 minutes a game every game.
(Cousins is a dream acquisition...he ain't happening.)
Okafor doesn't really excite me, he's the type of center that Stevens and DA really don't seem to want on this team. He doesn't really fit the system on either side of the ball.
One thing for sure, this team needs a big that can defend and rebound.
