No he is not top ten. I'm not even voting for him for all-star. Mr. 5'9 has to drop 59 to get my vote.

Are you going to wait for LeBron to score 68 from that token.

Statistically, right now IT is a better player than Durant in terms of Scoring.   Now KD is sharing the ball with Curry and Thompson.

I think IT is making a strong case for being a top player in terms of production but will folks every take him serious because of his height?

What are you talking about? KD much better in terms of TS% (.650 to .606) and 3pt% (.396 to .355). Way better (.796 to .591) from 0-3'. IT a bit better from the FT line this year, but KD with the higher career average there.

IT has no other alpha scorers on his team, KD with two of 'em.

Probably depends on the intention of the question I guess.  IT may actually be playing like a top ten player right now but that doesn't make him a top ten player.  Kind of like curry the past couple of years.  Had the best seasons and thus, deserved his mvp awards.  But at no times was Lebron not the best player in the world.

If IT gets knocked for his defense, so should Towns. People assume that Towns' defense will eventually be amazing so they give him credit for that future skill right now. He just doesn't have it yet.

Yep. I love Towns, but he's been pretty pitiful on D this year.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

Right.  But I'll point out that because KD has two other alpha scorers, his shooting percentages ought to be higher, since he should get better looks with defenses also paying extra attention to Curry and Klay.

I'm not saying that IT is a better scorer than KD, but looking at efficiency isn't always the correct way to evaluate.

IT is scoring 9.8 points more per game than his next highest teammate (Bradley).  Only four players in the league out scoring their next best teammate by more than 10 --  Westbrook, Davis, Cousins, and Harden.  Few players have less help offensively than IT does.

If we're just going by talent, there's probably a few other guys ahead of IT.  If we're talking about who is the better player right now, I think you put Irving at 9 and move IT to 10, maybe Lowry at 10 and IT at 11.

Ok, 2 questions then...

Is this Ainge's biggest heist as a GM?  Acquiring a top 20 NBA player for peanuts?

or,

Is this Brad Stevens greatest guard reclamation turning a JAG into a top 20 NBA player?

But iverson played most of his prime when hand checking was still legal

Hmmm

Iverson was a larger cultural figure, though
yup.

Iverson carried a team to the finals. ITs gotta at least carry us to the ECF before this convo starts.

We also have a much better roster than the one Iverson carried to the finals.
