Man, some of you people don't get it, some do.

It is not about one game. I am not basing a reaction of one game, rather that matchup that unless an injury happens will keep happeninng.

It is too easy for the CAVS, you saw that in the first half, they did not even try and they were toying with us. Bradley was on fire as was IT and they still were playing like they were against a ymca team. Then you saw the outburst in the 3rd qtr.

Things are too easy and if you analayze it youll see why, no toughness, weak down low play, and weak perimeter defense.

Why? well because our guards are no more than 6 foot 2 in our strarting lineup. Bradley good defender, but weak in terms of physical, IT is a pretty bad defender, and it's not his fault but he is, I can shoot over him any time I want to, and if you get by IT your in the world of trouble as it seemed like we always were.

So yea some of you want to bring up what IT did vs Memphis or teams like the Suns , Sixers, NEts, blah blah

I love IT , but in some games im just saying to myself, it aint gonna work, they have a huge advantage. So yea I rather have Smart in the lineup not letting whoever get easy penetration, or easy jumpers. That can slow down the Cavs. Obviously it will not completely, but you can see that you have to make teams like the Cavs uncomfortable, and Weak Horford and IT tiny butt aint going to do that. This is an easy SWEEP, and I mean easy sweep if the gameplan continues with this same team.

Amen.  Majority of blog doesn't want to hear any negative about their beloved celtics ::).  We've been patient and hopeful things are gonna be ok long enough.  Management is throwing bandaids in open wounds and it's time they be held accountable for the garbage we see in a nightly basis.  Tired of ball hog IT.  Tired of jb standing around with his thumb in his ass.  Tired of horford 3 point adventures.  Tired of KO since we drafted him.  Tired of james young being a project.  Get a real Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.ig team and real coach assembled here already!

While I agree Horford has choked a lot under pressure this eason I think this is a major overreaction.
He is playing his game, and those who are upset by his production or style of play clearly never watched him play in Atlanta.
That being said, he was horrid last night.. and fans SHOULD expect more from a $26mil dollar man, especially on prime time.

Crazy thing about this thread is if Crowder would have hit that 3 and we had won this game.. none of this talk of weak or soft stuff would be spoken of today..

Weak teams get blown out - they dont fight back and make it a dog fight in the end..
If this team was considered Weak and Soft Lebron would not have played in it..  We took a huge blow and got up off the Canvas and made it a game...

Do we have a physical Specimen like Bron on the team.. No..  But who else in the league does?

The same Antics Bully Bron used last night were the same ones he used on the Warriors last year and most of you guys complaining would give up your 1st born to have last years Warriors Roster..

IF you Cant see the potential of this team based off lasts nights game then I dont know what to tell you.. In every game someone gets out rebounded but that is not a direct reflection of who won that game.. it's just a part of the game..

we were 2 made shots away from winning that game..

That Cleveland team can beat any arrangement of players in the league on most nights.. They are that good..

It was a disappointing game. But even the '07-08 Celtics lost some games they shouldn't have (or 3 games they shouldn't have in the case of the first round against the Hawks). So let's not overreact about one game. They aren't up there with Cleveland yet, but they made it a game.

Horford had a bad game last night, but I don't blame him. He's had a lot of good games. But I don't like Stevens turning him into a 3P shooter on a team that has no inside presence. They'll never get better without an inside presence--somebody to get the ball for those 2nd shots they need when a 3 gets bricked (about 67% of the time).

The current bunch seems almost useless inside. Olynyk and Zeller are mush. Jerebko is no rebounder. AJ is a stealthy guy. He disappears a lot.

Last night they were outrebounded 56-35, and the game was still close! Wow. That backcourt must be pretty good. Just think what a difference a rebounder would make.

Wake up call, Danny.

Horford is like a present day Alvan Adams from those Phoenix Suns teams.

Good team defense. Terrific high post facilitator on offense. Bad rebounding.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
so much lol in this thread.

We had a gritty comeback and played incredible defense. We're arguably the best defensive team in the NBA right now.
We need some more pieces but soft we are CERTAINLY NOT.

Chill out and take some haterade. We are going to separate ourselves soon as a top 3 team in the East, and maybe even top 2 team in the East.

This is a PROCESS and if you can't handle the PATIENCE that's required then you need to find a new stress outlet.

Soft?
As a diehard fan myself it's honestly insulting and it's blatantly untrue.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Cleveland dropped 100 in the first three quarters then completely let up allowed us back in the game, started trying again, and closed the door.

This game was not nearly as close as the final score suggested.

That said, Im really impressed with Marcus Smart. Played terrific terrific D on both Kyrie and Lebron and led the comeback. I also loved seeing him get into it with Lebron James.

Avery was fantastic. Jonas deserves a lot of credit as well.

Horford has been Cleveland's Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. for a while now. This game was not a fluke.

This Celtic team has a strange personality. Last nights game was telling.

Our star player is a player we sometimes play better with, on the bench. His ball dominance, never mind his lack of defensive presents, causes this team to struggle. When IT isn't "ON" we sometimes have problems at both ends of the court.

If "soft" is a word you feel isn't descriptive enough, after the team is out rebounded 56 to 35, and 13 to 6 in offensive rebounds, and is next to last in the NBA in rebounding.

How about being "rebound challenged" due to lack of desire, physical size and ability.

There's a 6'11 Scoring Rebounding machine across the country that would probably desire winning. If only he shoots 3s as well as IT4 does.. oh wait.

Mostly led by guys like Joe Johnson and Josh Smith (and even Marvin Williams) but yes, Horford was around too, blending nicely into the background.

That was back when Al rebounded. He averaged 13 and 10 against us that series.

To me its not about winning a game its winning a series, and we would only win 1 or 2 games.
We are built for the regular season not built for the playoffs.
We need to redesign the team with that plan in mind.
We will lose to Toronto in a series and Cleveland if we don't build our team to beat them then what are we doing?
